This is correct, and you can tell because this virtue signaling didn't hold when the trend left the mainstream. Their modern-day equivalent can be found in the kink/psychedelic scene today, which is choke-full of predators presenting as wholesome spirituals.

Oh yeah i don't doubt they got on it, I just don't think it would have happened without the industrial amount of cocaine and general hedonist vibes of the time. That's how I read Bowie's regrets at presenting it like it was a genuine sexual interest in men.

Yeah it's giving bicurious persona + drugs, not actually gay interest. However, Bowie did a lot for male gender expression and in that sense he has legitimacy in the queer discourse imo.

J'habite à Berlin. C'est bien que les gens soient dans la rue, ok. Mais montrer son outrage, ce n'est pas de l'activisme. Ils ont zéro demandes, zéro propositions, et l'islamophobie qui nourrit les rangs de l'AfD et du CDU est passée sous silence. Où étaient ces gens pendant 15 mois de génocide?
