Well she turns 30 herself later this summer. Is she going to forget all of her own songs on her birthday?

My fave brand are Gradma Wild's Flapjacks, or Grandma Jack's Wild Flaps as I call them.

Nah, vowels first, in this order: UOAEI, then W then Y, then the consonants in their order of frequency of use (except C which is redundant), then Þ.

I initially read the first "live" to rhyme with "give", and I thought it was a suggestion.

Given what we know about him now, the Police must be regretting that they ever covered this song.

... is read differently by people of different languages. So do we have one international spelling, which is pronounced differently depending who says it, or one international pronunciation, which is rendered differently in each language? (Sorry, rambling!)

The standard is Zhongguo. The problem is that, while the system is very consistent and makes sense when you learn it, it's not intuitive to an English-speaker... and if it were, it wouldn't be intuitive to say, a Spanish-speaker. And herein lies the big problem - even an identical writing system...

Someone's never heard about the Naples waste management crisis.

We could just change the spelling of Reading to Redding. It's a daft spelling anyway.

I think this is a fair point! Absolutely nothing wrong with being prepared. It's just that the EDC scene seems to be more about playing at soldiers - which is fine too! It's just a hobby, I don't have an issue with it.

There's a subculture of people who are into Every Day Carry or "ECD", ie being armed to the teeth at all times with cool-looking Swiss army knives, multitools, compasses etc. There's a lot of emphasis on calling things "tactical" to make them sound more military and exciting. It's a rabbit hole!

I hate to be that guy (although by discussing samples on the Internet we're already BOTH that guy 😄) but this isn't strictly true because it's an interpolation rather than a direct sample. Chaz and Dave played on the Labi Siffre song but on the Eminem track it's Dr Dre's house band replaying it.

It depends what you're into. They've got a good metal scene.

[2]... non-binary character (they might have had a thing with "Old" Nicolette? Or Chloe?). So... seriously are there only like eight people in Australia or something?

It should be 0.7, and also the percentage symbol shouldn't be there - it's 0.7 per 100k, 5.7 per 100k etc.

Gardening, running and crochet are pretty alcohol-free, true... but painting? Have you met artists? Splashing bits of colour onto a canvas is mostly a bit of a distraction from the herculean drinking sessions.

I think what they're (probably, I dunno tbh) getting at is that lots of hobbies have a social aspect, which ultimately manifests itself in drinking. Like, in your example, there's presumably a clubhouse for after the shooting. This theory kind of breaks down with furniture repair though tbh.
