Your art for Revenge of Iris might be my favorite piece of Kaiju art. Helps that the designs in the movie are already read of course, but your art really renders them to perfection.

It's definitely the best X-book coming out RN and it's not even close. It's what NYX is trying to be but it's the difference between putting two white guys on a book like this compared to a black woman.

People once thought the War of the Worlds radio play was an actual account of an alien invasion.

I mean they could just get a job as a teacher, since grading using ChatGPT seems to be the new standard.

More non superhero stuff.
Y: The Last Man
Descender (And Ascender, the sequel) by Jeff Lemire
Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai (Has been going for 40 years but legitimately you can jump in whenever and it will be fine)
Fatale by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips

And last are just some random non Superhero stuff for variety's sake, since there's so many creators doing so many cool things.
Sandman by Neil Gaiman (Kinda cheating, technically in Dc Universe)
Die by Kieron Gillen
The Wicked + The Divine by Kieron Gillen
Giant Days by John Allison

Dc next
DC: The New Frontier
The Dark Knight Returns
Kingdom Come (Admittedly a more Superman focused story, but it's about the wider Dc Universe as a whole, not just him)
Wonder Woman: Dead Earth

To continue the list, gonna give some stories that are COMPLETELY self contained in Marvel and DC, figuratively or literally not taking place in their main universes. Marvel first!
Spider-man: Life Story
Earth X
Vision by Tom King
Black Bolt by Saladin Ahmed

even other comic fans, make them out to be. Most writers are aware that they do need to re-explain some things or write things in a way so that the story is still entertaining and comprehensible to people even without 60 years of knowledge. There's exceptions ofc but still.

I should stress that these are just comics I think are good that are also inextricably connected to their universes without being continuity heavy.
You can also look and grab whatever you want, as long as it's the beginning of a new creative team's run, comics aren't as complex as some people...

Next up is the same, but for DC.
Scott Snyder's Batman run during the New 52.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps by Robert Venditti
Batman/Superman: World's Finest by Mark Waid (this one is the only book so far that is still going)
JLA by Grant Morrison
I forgot to get pictures last time.

Late on this one but, gonna split this up into 4 categories.
These are stories that ease you into the larger Marvel universe via different lenses.
Ms. Marvel by G Willow Wilson
Chris Claremont's X-men run
Brian Micheal Bendis on Daredevil
Avengers/New Avengers by Jonathan Hickman
