Dvorkovich obviously had nothing to say at Fide, otherwise the Fide Council would not have suddenly declared the negotiations over, Buettner said. According to Jan Henric Buettner, he no longer has any contact with Fide President Dvorkovich.

Innerhalb weniger Tage verlor ich etwa 100 Elopunkte, fiel von 1440 auf 1340. Natürlich spiele ich trotzdem weiter. Ich liebe Schach, es ist ein wunderschönes Spiel. Hoffnung macht mir Dina Belenkaya.

There has also been criticism within the club. Oliver von Wersch, deputy head of the chess department at FC St. Pauli, told SPIEGEL that he had spoken to Henrik Carlsen, Magnus' father and manager, to have the matter explained to him.

"In chess it is important that - theoretically speaking - you have full information about all the forces at work on the board (...). In any case this attempt looks promising compared to an attempt to understand the chaos of the world."
