For me, this kind of total carelessness in design should be a criminal offence for the maker and the driver. Driving round in the knowledge that if you happen to clip someone with that corner they'll be cut in half...

I think NRC has a good chance to escape this because (a) in what circumstances would they want to overrule NRC anyway? (b) they can always put a stooge in as chairman (c) what they really want is the Federal Election Commission and more everyday regulators

And this EO is particularly crazy. I can't even imagine the length and breadth of all the formerly independent agencies Trump has just claimed himself the right to overrule, let alone the consequences if he does.

If they sue then do a reverse ferret and print a series of stories about the lawsuit, rehashing it all as well as all the commentary again and again and again.

Not very surprised to hear this. I know someone who was horribly injured by a bus //while standing still on the pavement//. If memory serves they were also blamed for the incident and given no compensation.

I don't believe nuclear power plants will suddenly become dangerous. The integrity and commitment of the industry is way too high for that. But as a communicator who has worked for 20 years to build trust... I can tell you this is very much not what we need for a future of abundant clean energy.

Here's the Executive Order. There is a 60-day implementation period during which it can hopefully be averted for NRC by urgent work behind the scenes. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

I’m with you. I thrive on the interaction. Being at home all the time does my head in.

To be honest with you I like being in the office and I like getting paid so it'd be a win-win for me.

They’re always playing silly little games with categories… so tedious. Disgraceful, really, from supposed professionals.

Ah, don't worry. Nothing gets past the NYT bsky.app/profile/nyti...

I know I'm a nuclear guy but it's been obvious for a long time that renewables as a category is redundant. They're all /completely/ different technologies and they don't even have commonality in being outsiders any more.

The biggest song of last year with 1 billion streams which just won a bunch of Grammys and was performed live at the Super Bowl. It literally and seriously accuses another star of being a paedo yet apparently the police haven’t noticed…

And London is almost as bad. Is it just the City, the postal codes, travel zones 1-3, the boroughs of Greater London or simply everything within the M25?
