I think the answer is §204(c): sham-marriage rejection bars future application approvals.

Why was her asylum appeal denied in '98, b/c of her earlier sham marriage attempt or due to lack of persecution evidence? If the latter, y was she granted stay of removal? Wasn't that based on evidence of persecution if deported to Iran?

Following removal-order & asylum Iranians, might they go after visa & Green Card holders, perhaps via Alien Enemies Act by claiming a war w/ Iran, esp. if it restarts & escalates?

Iran's highest intel/gov levels penetrated by Isr & Amer agents for many years, besides other means of monitoring, e.g. IAEA & satellites. Hard for Iran to keep nuclear weaponization secret for too long. Airspace open to Isr/Am bombing. Likely no viable options for effective air defense/power.

From 0:15s, at the bottom of the video reads that 22% of Venezuelan Trump voters regret their vote. So, close to 80% of them don't regret it, yet!

It's worse than that. Even Green Card holders, not just "adult international student", can be deported on this basis.

That's the line Jewish reps r expected to proclaim in every Isr conflict, but doesn't necessarily mean they don't believe it. After 9/11 many Islamic orgs in US issued strong denunciations of the attack, partly to deter Islamophobes, but doesn't mean they didn't believe their own denunciations.
comment in response to
post
Every time there's a conflict w/ Israel, Jewish reps issue similar statements strongly denouncing Isr/Zionism, partly to counter radicals who see Jews as Isr 5th column. In recent war, chief Rabbi, Tehran Jewish Committee & MP in your article, separately issued strong official support of gov't.

Only 1 Jewish MP; can't have more & Muslims can't vote for him. Non-Musl's not allowed govt/military positions, except lowest mil conscripts. Haim syng, aka Museum of Iranian Jews, incl. closed Polish synag (WWII refugees). Since u r interested, non-Jewish visitors to Haim syng:

Baha'is, an Iranian offshoot of Shi'ism, are considered heretics by Shia clerics & persecuted; not a recognized, though largest non-Muslim, relig. minority. Zoroastrians, Jews & Christ.'s are recognized, though subject to discriminatory laws/policies, & have limited representation in the parliament.

The "ian" suffix is common among Persian names, as well, & "Kashan" is an Iranian city. That combination not a typical Armenian name. Up to Trump admin, US automatically granted asylum to Iranian Baháʼís & Jews. Dunno if this also applied to other relig. minorities, such as Christ's & Zoroastrians.

Does the "all" in "all Jewish institutions are off limits even ... for legitimate protest" include ADL, AJC, AIPAC, WZO & JDL, for instance?

"For weeks or months" may be an exaggeration. Israel & US can cripple Iran's infrastructure, oil/gas & power, in the next couple of waves of attacks, bringing Iran to its knees.

Source? Per Wikipedia (total/land):
LA city: 498/469 sq mi
NYC: 472/300 sq mi
(36% of NYC's total area is water.)
Also, you were taking ratios relative to your LA number & I was relative to NYC. LA land is 45% larger than the ave of the 2 land areas.
comment in response to
post
No. Per Wikipedia, city of LA is only 5% larger in area than NYC. But if you only consider land area, & not water, then "LALA land" is 50% larger.

It's like when diplomats or scientists from closed societies like USSR & its satellites, China, N. Korea or Iran, would be offered asylum when visiting the West, esp. the US. Now American elite are treated as if they're from behind the Iron Curtain.

How about Amer. Libertarian-GOP ideology behind Kohelet Policy Forum of Koppel, Bell & Kontorovich, theorizing for judicial reform? Not yet successful enough?
Also, u mean Mizrahi orthodoxy mainly shaped by Ashkenazi one much more than traditional Judaism from Muslim lands?

What's the point of deporting foreign students for traffic infractions, other than just increasing the body count? Are these students of certain national/racial/ethnic backgrounds? Are they somehow cherry picking, other than by Israel-Palestine issue, among foreign students w/ minor infractions?

Some anti-Zionist Israeli Jews collaborate with Western tankies; e.g. Ilan Pappé is a regular contributor to Electr. Intifada. In that, they're similar to activist anti-Zionist Haredim, like the Neturei Karta.
And there are quite a few diaspora Jews among Western tankies, like Norman Finkelstein.
