Random thought…how ironic is it that I was afraid of roller coasters for the first half of my life, but then I tried one to please my brand new husband and loved it—but by the time I had a chance to go to a theme park again it wasn't safe because of the spinal damage my arthritis had caused by then.

Went up to one of my favorite local trails today. It runs through mature deciduous woods so it's sunny in winter but cool and shady now. The river was babbling and the woods were filled with singing and calling birds, including a barred owl, and there's a red-shouldered hawk's nest right overhead.
