Finally doing some serious design and calculations for the proposed children's house in the shared garden. Octagonal frame. Finished circular. I haven't calculated the area of a cylinder or cone for decades!

Rabbit hands a NSFW lapel pin to a friend.

Bouncey enough for a bunny?

What do you reckon Rabbit? Easily fixed?

The wonder of nature captured in ice on a windscreen. Anyone have an explanation for this seemingly random pattern?

A note from a friend who does a lot of research into rowing, prompted by the recent death of a schoolboy rower in Melbourne, AUS. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRd_...

Crew from a recent film.

World Book Day is coming so The Apprentice and I have been in the workshop making props for her costume.

Another historical recreation job done.

A wet Monday. The perfect time to notice a soggy sock and realise that it's time for some new work boots.

Someone is 8. Awesome presents.

Rabbit had a big day in London, including a ride in the Great Glass Elevator to Mrs Flying Boatmans office, and a special treat at Fortnum and Mason.

The Apprentice is in her happy place

Shared around my club by members who had the start of their race interupted by the dangerous actions of some halfwitted powerboat driver. www.gov.uk/government/n...

School holidays mean The Apprentice and Rabbit have jobs in the workshop.

Gearing up for a 1911 duplicate

"Yes, I did row a little at one time - why, how did you discover that?" Sent by a friend. Never met anyone like this. Never, I swear...

Interesting old components. Never seen this wheel and bearing design before. 1990s Aylings 1x

An irregular edition of a regular job.

Yearly freebie for the club done.

Copper tip, cleaned up, replaced.

I think we can call this one done.

The Apprentice made me laugh last night when she described squirrels as "grey fluffy balls of mayhem".

Motorcycle workshop next-door has adopted a squirrel. Finally there is video. Meet McVittie.

It won't be *exact* but it will be a good reproduction.

Brilliant idea for old sports/event kit. Convert to cushions. www.facebook.com/share/p/14nf...

The Rowing Gods have shined upon me today. Managed to get this out with barely any swearing.

90 year old varnish.

A brilliant oar repair in challenging conditions. t.co/Tf63qTIBim

Not content with selling out her first print run of books, Mrs Flying Boatman has now uploaded a Kindle version of her book to Amazon. Go and be amazed. The Money Pizza: The Slice By Slice Guide to Being Your Own Money

First coat of varnish

The Work Experience Boy came around after school to help assemble a new batch of boat light mounts. Now I get to add the lanyards.

The Apprentice had to make a model of Stonehenge for school. I printed out a detailed plan, then we recreated the current look in modelling clay. Scale was a bit small. She said the snack version I made before Christmas was much better...

One new saxboard. Now to do the other side...

The Apprentice made a rainbow ring of rabbits.

Having fun fitting new saxboards to a boat.

Just sanding back this Cambri..., Oxford..., no, actually Cambridge oar. I have a feeling that there is a good story somewhere here.
