A squid that flies. Interested in comedy and archaeology, doesn't shy away from left-wing politics, recent American emigre to the UK. Occasionally says something funny, but people rarely notice.

Maybe we need to start doing a whole Most Dangerous Game thing, except the billionaires are the ones who have to hide in the jungle.

I love it. They very clearly didn't rehearse. Also, I think Capaldi might be drunk. But he did get to wear the sonic sunglasses.

I know this is close to blasphemy, but I never liked Harry Potter. I read the first book and it was a combination of A Wizard of Earthsea and The Worst Witch, both of which are better books. I completely lost interest. Also, it completely glorifies the abusive UK independent school system.

It's printed on hemp. I think there's only one good use for it left.

I didn't realise they made Wotsits back then, but they should really watch their diet.

The period of blissful social cohesion of my childhood would have been far less blissful if I hadn't spent most of it assuming Reagan and the Soviets would trade nukes and end the world at any moment.

I think that's a happy coincidence. Trump has been pro-asbestos ever since he was forced to remove it when renovating his buildings.

Fun fact: the Dennis Moore song was actually the theme to the 1950s The Adventures of Robin Hood TV series that was super popular in the UK and, somewhat appropriately in this case, was mostly written by blacklisted Hollywood writers who escaped to England.

Powell and Pressburger were absolutely incredible. They're revered in Britain but sadly almost unknown in the U.S. 49th Parallel, Thief of Bagdad, The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus... like Billy Wilder, there was not a genre in which they couldn't make an amazing film.

The media WANTS this to be a riot. It gets more eyes on them. If they showed all the people peacefully protesting, most viewers would stop the video. And then where would their advertising revenue come from?

Remember, Vance called Trump Hitler. Now he's a sycophant. All these Republicans eventually fall in line.

I am not in any way a fan of Heavy Metal and their music was especially bad, even for that genre, but I got to see GWAR for free when I was a guest at DragonCon in the 90s. Best rock show I ever saw. Glad I stood in the back though. Gallagher-level mess (but funny, unlike Gallagher).
