Also, it’s fun to write merely petit bourgeois/pmc people dealing with Real Money, because there’s always something new. Like “Yeah, I’m going to visit my grandmother before school starts,” and just eliding that grandma owns a five star resort because it’s where grandma’s house is.

NARST is awesome btw, and probably the best continuing education option in education. Solid research in their journal, well written briefs, and actionable information to modify instruction and physical spaces all in one. If anyone else in education had similar we might’ve dodged Whole Word Reading.

If Teachers got anything resembling time and a half or reasonable working conditions the system would collapse overnight, and I legitimately think legislators and policy analysts are at least subconsciously aware of that and work hard to keep it from happening. Which is yet more reason to do it.

It’s because nobody at Apple actually cares about AI beyond what’s necessary to shut the shareholders up, and they’re right to be that way. It’s far better to put that money into Hardware or useful software, and guess what Apple’s currently dominating in?

Should probably think about that a lot, but I would legitimately be surprised if this passed the Reverse Bechdel Test, which is kinda hilarious but also par for the course in erotica. Like dudes talk, but the longest sustained conversation between two men is about helping a grieving woman mourn.

Which I’ll be honest was not a good trade for adequate restroom access, especially when staff had to routinely share restrooms with students.

You know, when the parents and board weren’t engaged in harassment campaigns against staff, or the administration was actively engaged in or just covering up unethical or criminal activity.

Part of this is spending a few years in charters, where I’ll be honest Melodramatic, Incompetent and Burned Out are the three corners of the personality triangle.

Although using Arts in education was something reformers pushed in the late 19th c., it only really got to its modern form after WWII. Meanwhile Steiner died in 1925, ignorant of Cizek's work (starting in 1897,) and insisted on a bunch of dumb and weird stuff instead, but still gets a bs artsy rep.

Meanwhile, fucking Waldorf Education still hangs around, despite Steiner having been dead for longer than modern art education has existed, and insists on being a throwback to before the Normal School in terms of methodology, hygiene and general competence.

Unless you've got an actual reason for it, yes. Which is why a pathetic looser like Musk would do it.

It's your fault you decided to pay extra for a shitty science class and fewer Black kids Brian. Nobody forced you to do it, and we're not under any obligations to let you draw from public coffers to do it. If you have a problem with school taxes you can just move elsewhere.

Like the only big crackpot idea I recall actually being successful in penetrating public schools to a lasting degree (without a legislature threatening to jail people, as occasionally happens,) was whole word learning, and that took a mountain of fraud and a few decades to get there.

Regular-ass public schools are gonna be way better at using the funds they have, have the scale to not only have more resources but also more experienced and motivated staff, and aren't going to be as influenced by fads if admin is sane (big if) or beholden to crackpot ideologies and methodologies.

A cursed steakhouse concept that mostly shows up by implication because none of the cast want to be menaced by animatronic geese during dinner.

Four goddamned homes, including a 5000 sqft condo and a 12000sqft mansion, and I still have to figure out the goddamned penthouse.
