I see lots of ZZ Top beard action for the Yankees this summer.

Zuck let everyone know he's a right wing tool and cares more for power and I guess money (hard to believe he needs more) than oh you know, democracy or human rights. Really disappointing, but I guess not surprising.

They started out with such great vibes. So much joy and then they let it all go. Oh so pretty Adam Mosseri turned out to be just another tech bro focused solely on generating profit and protecting his MAGA boss. Really disappointing.

The vibe started good, but as time progressed their content management system started blocking people for no reason, they refused to allow "any" political content (read progressive content) and of course, then Zuck turned out to be a MAGA bro. Sigh.

Not what he is doing. This kind of conspiracy mongering is a waste of time.

I guess. They brought it on themselves.

They don’t. Sadly. He’s not part of the KGB, he’s just a profoundly stupid and greedy old man who likes hanging out with dictators.

The three yes, Warren not so much. All talk.

He has made it possible for tons of people to save money on prescription drugs. This has nothing to do with investing in pharma companies. Billionaires existing is a systemic problem. Best of luck fixing it. gradstudies.musc.edu/about/blog/2....

So good! His dad was at the game, all the way from The Netherlands.

If we build more housing, demand will fall eventually and the investors will leave. It’s the housing shortage that brings in the investors.

So nice to read about legislators doing their jobs rather than missing the ring of a petty autocrat.

Sadly he will be once Kuminga returns.

They don’t need 60 votes.

Young Dems are fighting. Just not enough of them.

Seems like a Nazi billionaire is the one taking all the power.

True. But that is a systemic failure. Cuban is not a nepo baby. Also he’s actually trying to fix our healthcare system.
comment in response to post
He actually earned his money. You can dislike him but he did the work.

Zuck is not that clever. Just greedy. And far as I can tell, progressives are doing a fine job failing to fight back.

Most people will not show up as long as the changes don't impact them directly. The price of eggs matters more to most Americans than govt worker layoffs. And where is our Party leadership? Schumer can't write emails and Pelosi is falling off her heels.
comment in response to post
"They." It's all just finger pointing at the Dems rather than actually pushing back and using your billions to create a real opposition effort. Cannot tell you how disappointed I am in you so far. Your billions are being wasted on minor efforts to reduce drug prices while our democracy dies.

Oh we should try and I'm glad to see some of the young members of the House pushing back. But those seats are extremely red. Economy is still strong and it's early days. Going to be very, very hard.
comment in response to post
He could do this because Dems would not get rid of the filibuster. Manchin and Sinema killed us. My bet is the GOP kills the filibuster shortly.
comment in response to post
This is the first good idea I've heard in this thread. @mcuban.bsky.social Why not fund Pete? He's pretty much the only Dem who can make the GOP look like fools.
comment in response to post
Dude, the GOP controlled the House during those hearings. That's why we had the hearings. They did not hold any hearings when they were in the minority. House minority party has no power, none.
comment in response to post
No it didn't. Dems passed lots of excellent legislation when we had a trifecta. And we had two Senators that were effectively Republicans. GOP made a lot of noise, but really did nothing. They were able to stop legislation only after they took the House in 2022.
comment in response to post
They can vote no as they have been doing and they can speak to the media, which they have completely failed to do. They cannot hold hearings. No power.
comment in response to post
Far as I know, a quorum is a majority, so if Dems don't show up, GOP just passes bills quicker.
comment in response to post
The two seats up shortly in Florida are super red. And not all that agrarian.
comment in response to post
Doubt these bills will even get heard in committee. What are you doing other than writing silly posts on BlueSky? Oh and feeling sad that you sold the Mavs. You are have billions, why are you not leading a real opposition?
comment in response to post
I have no idea what this means. Are you saying the 25% or so of the country that voted for Trump will start a civil war? First, they are in power now, so why would they do this? Second, I don't think they will get very far in large blue states. I'm just not clear on the motives here.

Big box stores are struggling. Many will not survive. Online shopping is doing in box stores just as it has retail chains.
comment in response to post
Well, not sure I've loved the US much of late, but yes, this is truly terrible.
comment in response to post
Yeah I don't think so. Not that I want a civil war, but I don't see anyone on the left doing anything but protesting in front of Tesla dealerships in blue cities and calling their incredibly old and out of touch legislators.
comment in response to post
Did you offer to provide Schumer with a remedial how to use email course? The Dem lead in the Senate does not know how to write an email. Just mind boggling.
comment in response to post
He looks so handsome!

The article says it's a domestic violence case. Horrific, but. how is it MAGA related?

Why do I think Bezos will decide he should be the star.

So sad.

Nah, I’m out.
comment in response to post
Musk’s money comes from many sources. SpaceX is his most lucrative business. He also gets richer by being rich. Protesting at a Tesla dealership will have no impact on Musk’s wealth.
comment in response to post
He’s the richest person in the world. What is your plan here?
comment in response to post
Not sure how protesting in front of a Tesla dealership does much. It’s going to need to get much worse before protests get big enough to matter. Maybe.

Nancy Pelosi is my Congresswoman. Gonna bet she knows what I think.
comment in response to post
So far this week I learned that Schumer doesn’t use email, Pelosi plans to run for office in 2026 at age 86 and AOC lost the fight to be Dem lead on the Oversight Committee to 74 year old Gerry Connelly. They are useless. Sigh.
