Severance's use of "Fire Woman" in the latest episode was fun. Been on a Cult kick all day after watching last night.

🏺🦣🧪 A cool skull but I'm going to add nuance. Toothlessness alone doesn't imply food provision. 100% gummy bonobos, our closest primate relations, cope OK. But in hominins, esp. from 500 ka, systematic butchery & transport of prey points to group food sharing, making such care more likely.

🎧 I'll put on some New York Dolls next. variety.com/2025/music/n...

🎧 weekend time.

Darkly funny that vaccines have worked so well for so long that folks have straight forgotten what it means to catch a real disease that could kill you instead of mildly inconvenience you.

🎧Graffin and Peart are my current spiritual advisors. "No Bad Religion song can make your life complete" But it can sure help!

Beehive Distilling has their own bourbon now. Not sourced/blended like some other Utah bourbons. I picked up a bottle tonight. A great bourbon for the price and locally made! 🥃

With consistent development across southern Utah, ancient archeological sites and petroglyphs are increasingly at risk.

Something special for the lithophiles for #FlintFriday and #FieldFriday - two ends of the Levallois spectrum from my survey yesterday in Luxor. I’ve never seen anything quite like either of them 🤩

Long line at the pharmacy? Solve it by continuing a deep dive into the NIN catalog. Excited they are coming my way this summer! Been 20(!) years since I last saw them.

@jpkidman.bsky.social When you guys have gone to Lava Hot Springs, where do you stay?

Stayed up until 1:00 AM working on a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle while listening to Duane Betts, anf the Allman Betts Band. Then, lazed away the morning with coffee and the Yacht Rock doc on Max. Good start to the weekend.

One of my favorite live albums.🎧

The biggest edit I've made is replacing the whole, dried chiles with 4 tbsps of ground red chile. It's not perfect, but a hell of a lot easier.

Usually, I'm team green chile, but this chile colorado I've been working on turned out really nice. We also did carne asada with green chile. True New Mexican "Christmas Style". This is the base recipe, but I made modifications over past batches tastesbetterfromscratch.com/chile-colora...

Unknown Treasures (wrapped presents)

#DeepHistorySanta🎅🏺: Scratched into the wall high above the floor of #NineMileCanyon in Utah, almost flying 😉, a row of deer and sheep and goat can be seen parading in what has become known as #SantaClausPanel (Fremont Culture, 10th-13th century). Merry Christmas! 🦌🎄

Hey BlueSky Music 🎧 friends, what are some non-holiday albums that you associate with the holidays? Here's mine. A pivotal Xmas gift from my mom (on cassette). Been coming back to it regularly for 30(!) years now.

Wily is barking at me because I had to take the box apart and show him it's all gone. Confused dog is confused. Also, wanted to get it out to recycling before pickup.

The Bark Advent calendar has been the best dog present we've done. Here's the last one. The xmas one is a digital picture. Kinda lame, but all in all, it's been fun.
