Someone was surprised to learn that I yeet bugs out instead of *gently relocating* them. I appreciate the gesture. But in the tropics, seeing bugs where they shouldn't be is an hourly—not weekly thing. You learn what can survive a yeet to save time. In this thread I'm rating animal yeetability.

so they're mycoblogging

Just saying.

Rowling geklagt.

This is where your Harry Potter money goes

Hallo any Berliners out there, I’m looking for help from some locals who are steeped in the history of the Weimar theater/Cabaret scene and the places/buildings where it happened, you don’t need to be like a PhD or anything, enthusiasts are cool (I am one too) hmu namebrandlindsay at gmail

Biggest commitment to a 3 second joke I've ever seen

This is what happens when you have wonderful but extremely nerdy late antiquity friends. thank you for a smile after an intense day, @lsnasrallah.bsky.social ❤️ 🦛 ❤️

Heads up that the “Learn Latin” guy from Twitter has just set up an account on here. If you don’t know, this account is a reactionary alt-right trad bro in all the worst ways. Let’s all preemptively block the bastard & deny him any oxygen. He doesn’t belong here.

It was a SpaceX rocket

The story of the German clockmender is such a beautiful reminder of why I'm on bluesky

I think that this superb parrot chick is objectively 25/10 adorable I can’t even with its face fluff

Oh, just remembered, there's an e-promo of All Systems Red, it should be 1.99 on most US retailers, today (March 30) only. www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/...

Dear fellow cis people: Keep the deadname of Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk's estranged daughter, out of your mouths and off of our screens.

People think being small will keep them safe. It won't. The reason we know who Mahmoud Kahlil is is because he was loud. Do you think he's the only person the administration has tried to disappear? He's just one of the first we've noticed

Murderbot: copes with anxiety by watching its favorite media on repeat Murderbot fans with anxiety: cope with anxiety by reading or listening to the books about Murderbot on repeat

The reason Civ 7 sucks is because they didn't have Luigi around to fix it

It's done. I just have to wash my blue pencil off, and mount it.

Epic. There should be a Nobel Prize For Footnotes given out each year and called The Hodgson. It would mark you as the scholar’s scholar.

Deutschelander followers, can you provide some advice to my friend from Afghanistan on getting out of late charges on a medical bill that went to his old address, bitte? Danke schön!

god I resent knowing who Chuck Schumer is, it’s like Americans having to care about — or even be aware of the existence of — Baroness Smith of Basildon

Hey bluesky it u

Friends, I’m seeing some slippage from “don’t engage, don’t quote-dunk, just block” and I implore you to HOLD THE LINE. HOLD THE LINE. For ALL that is BLUE and SKEETIFUL, HOLD! HOLD!

We can upload 3 minute videos now. YOU KNOW THE RULE

This book is the only one that's actually dark academia! I bought it as an ebook because I couldn't wait for the paperback, then bought the paperback anyway to lend out to friends, then the audiobook to have these melancholy-but-comforting, found-family-oops-murder vibes anywhere I go!

Feels a good day for a thread. So I would like to introduce you to a mostly forgotten, but actually rather pivotal figure in PC history. Meet Dr Portia Isaacson Bass. If it wasn't for something she did in 1981, we'd all still be forced to use IBM (or IBM-licensed) PCs right now. /1

With its extremely long neck, the Brontësaurus could reach wuthering heights.

An excellent #BadActorBingo analysis from someone else! I've been falling down on writing these lately but this is a good explanation of the techniques you can use to find a whole network.

raise your hand if you’re tired of the maintenance that comes with having a human body

This is fascinating. In 1941 a German textile archaeologist, Karl Schlabow working for a Nazi 'race science' organisation, removed a fragment of the Bayeux Tapestry. That fragment has now been found in the Schleswig-Holstein State Archives, and will soon be repatriated to France.

Play hard. Nap hard. #caturday hangover. #proofofcat

When it comes to boycotting, just a thought. It’s okay if you can’t quit a company cold turkey. In Master Gardeners, when we encourage people to switch to native plants, the goal is 70% native, not 100%. If you were shopping at a store 80% of the time and cut it back to 60%, that 20% still hurts.
