Can we mimic nature by growing crop monocultures? Yes. "Monoculture agriculture, particularly for cereals, is a proven natural model for future food production." It's not good because it's natural; it's good because it works. Open access: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177...

RFK Jr & his kids are vaccinated. Because he knows vaccines are safe & effective. Yet he makes millions of dollars causing preventable illness & death by telling other people vaccines are harmful. 1/

Just got a message from the sun, loosely translated it’s: “I will make a brief appearance this morning but then gone until Monday. Enjoy the clouds this weekend”

I enjoy this in many ways youtu.be/--RYPHqbD50?...

Economies transition from primary industries (agriculture) to secondary industries (manufacturing) to service industries. The rapid decline of workers in agriculture in China is super impressive but having a quarter of your workforce in agriculture is still very high.

Common statement below is false. Monocropping's impact on soil nutrients depends on the difference btwn harvested nutrients and added fertilizers, not the practice itself. Legume crops often don't add N to soil. Monocropping means growing the same crop yearly, not monoculture.

Genetics, simplified with gummy bears. This creative diagram uses a ‘family tree’ of gummy bears to illustrate how traits are passed down through generations. The ‘parents’ at the top are red and yellow bears, and their ‘offspring’ show mixed colors, representing genetic variation.

The strategy of nature mimicry in crop production is built on flawed assumptions: 1. Believing cropland can function like wild ecosystems 2. Assuming "natural" always means superior. My latest...https://csanr.wsu.edu/the-flawed-thinking-behind-mimic-nature-in-crop-production/

While RFK is the weirdest nut job, the make America healthy again slogan is on the money. A nation that spends like crazy on healthcare and ranks 48th in life expectancy is essentially insulting its own population. Source: https://buff.ly/3Be423o

Because claims RFK Jr. made on Mikhaila Peterson’s podcast are SO egregiously false on multiple levels, I dissected it. Key points: Peanut oil isn’t a vaccine excipient. Aluminum is not allergenic. How aluminum adjuvants work is VASTLY different than food allergy immunology. 1/

Does synthetic nitrogen fertilizer burn up soil organic matter? Multiple sources of evidence suggest not. N fertilizer actually slows loss of old SOM and increases microbial biomass. @jordon_wade and I: csanr.wsu.edu/nitrogen-fer...
