Will get on them mate. I've only got Hunky Dory, Ziggy and Low. And only Ziggy and Low on vinyl.

Are these three the famed Berlin Trilogy?

I've never been to a record fair, Jhonny. I need to change that don't I. There's enough of them close to where I live too.

I've only got and listened to Low, James. Will defo have to get on the others 👍🏽

A solid follow up and a more complete album than Hot Fuss for me. I saw them at Glastonbury a year after this dropped and it was an amazing gig.

Neil Finn 👌🏽

Yes you may listen and think "What the f**king is this" but if you persevere with it, you may grow to like it. Neil's like Bowie in that he's covered pretty much all genres.

It was an album inspired by his son Ben, who has cerebral palsy and the song Transformer Man was about him.
comment in response to post
I like Trans, but brace yourself cos it's such a departure from his country, folk, rock norm. Neil goes Electronic 😄.

I need to listen to King Of Limbs a bit more but In Rainbows is fantastic and I've really grown to love A Moon Shaped Pool recently. That has become one of my favourites too. What a band Ricky.

I'm a huge SFA fan and have all of Gruff's solo albums. The Court Of King Arthur, Cycle Of Violence, Painting People Blue and Beacon In The Darkness are all faves from this album.

I only know his hits. Never owed an album. I sing on the local pub circuit on the Wirral and I do some of his songs.

Yes I love Buffalo Springfield Again and Razor Love is great. I've just bought on ebay an original pressing of Re.ac.tor which is one of my favourite 80s albums of Neil's. It was only £17 from a record store in Glasgow. The vinyl is unplayed and sleeve in mint condition. Can't grumble at that 😊

I've only been collecting vinyl for 3 years after my wife bought me a turntable for my birthday. It was always cds up until then. So addictive isn't it.

Glad you like it Kev. Tbh this is a massive shout but I think The Great Divide is in my top 5 favourite songs by Neil. The album closer Without Rings is a beauty too.

Haha love it. Hardcore!

HMV. Happy days.

Graham, so sorry to hear this mate. Thoughts are with you Xxx

I feel as though Let It Be hardly gets any love, but it's one of my favourite Beatles albums.

All the best AJ. Glad you're OK.

My favourite PJ album is Vs and I agree on that opening of Go and Animal. Right out of the gate with a bang!

Yes mate. Some albums are growers aren't they and you can end up really loving them.

Of course, I understand that. Albuquerque (from Tonight's The Night) is my favourite song of Neil's. The pedal steel guitar gives me goosebumps.

BTW I didn't mean that 'Seriously' to sound incredulous 😂

Seriously!? Tonight's The Night and On The Beach are my top 2. Give them time mate and you may change your mind. Tbh Kev, Tonight's The Night is not one you would recommend as a starting place. It's more for the seasoned fan.

A life changing album for me as a 16 year old and my introduction to Nirvana. My favourite by them too.

Top man.

See The Sky About To Rain, On The Beach and Ambulance Blues are amazing. Revolution Blues is another favourite. Tonight's The Night is my favourite album with On The Beach a close 2nd.

Top drawer.

Lovely live album. I love the version of Bad Fog Of Loneliness on this.

What an album! Some of the tracks on this are pure gold. Possibly Neil's best.
comment in response to post
Great album!

You know something mate...I was listening to it in the car earlier and I said to myself "What a band they are" and you know when I see people saying they're overrated, I can't help but think to myself that most people just don't get them 🤷‍♂️

I've really got into this album lately and it's brilliant. I bought it on cd when it came out but didn't listen to it properly but lately I'm really liking it. It's great!

Living with War and Chrome Dreams II are good albums from the 00s too mate.

Huge catalogue mate 😄

Then there's Waging Heavy Peace which was an actual autobiography of his. I haven't read that one yet tho. My wife bought me it for Xmas years ago and I still haven't started it 😆🤦

Yes mate, he's got a biography called Shakey which is very well researched and written by a big fan called Jimmy McDonagh. I would recommend that cos the author interviews many people close to Neil throughout many years including his mum and former bandmaster and associates.

Psychedelic Pill from 2012 was a really good album too mate.

Reactor and Freedom are good 80s albums imo and Trans is a total change of direction going electronic and I like that one. He had a resurgence in the 90s with Ragged Glory, Harvest Moon and Sleeps with Angels. They're all worth checking out. Also Silver and Gold, Prairy Wind from the noughties.

Jhonny I think his best era was from 69 debut to Rust Never Sleeps in 79. His 80s catalogue was a hard slog. Some of those albums are good but there's some clunkers. Neil wasn't bothered about that tho...He does what he wants to do. He was raising 2 severely disabled kids and that took priority.
comment in response to post
Yes Jhonny. Class Neil!

A bit of mad album mate. Its like and album of 2 halves, like 2 genres mashed together. I quite like it tho. Hope you enjoy it.
