Im signing up for every tourney you're in for the rest of your life and hunting you down so you never win a single relevant set ever again (congrats on d5 tho. that shit is gas)

Im not connected enough to form a team of my own, and I def dont wanna captain a team again... but like there's nothing out there and even if there was, there's a good chance I wont even get to fire a shot before it's over. Alright vent over I just... needed to spill a bit for my own sake

I have been replaced or cut in line by more established pen players over and over since becoming an FA, like I didn't think it could be this common. I wouldn't care if these people knew how I played but I can't even get my foot in the door before the chance is gone.

I must have lucked out hard with Lunar Eclipse. I know I had my issues and I still support my decisions to leave, but man I do miss the ability to just like... do shit. Seriously... are pen players really that abundant?

more than that, I wanna be able to vibe with some people who share a love for competitive improvement. Players who have ideas and bring stuff to the table and just have fun kicking higher level player's asses. I can't keep losing feeling like I've done everything I can, it hurts mental so hard

I cant wait however many more months it is til I get another chance at +3, this hobby has done so much and especially since I was able to separate my performance from my self-worth back mid-last-year it's been a huge positive impact on my life. I just want a chance to show what I can do

I've worked hard, I've gotten here in a short amount of time, I've never had super competent coaching so I learned everything myself, I have great ranks in the few areas I can control... it just feels like I just need to keep playing the pickup lottery. I dont play this game to bet, I do it to learn

God this game is like REALLY fun when I'm not fighting a liter!!! Like some of the most fun games Ive had in a while :3
comment in response to post
played a game vs a vscope, a GOOD vscope. I am refreshed, recharged, I feel great, I love this game. Liter is the issue. Just Fucking E-Liter

Fucking... I know it was like partially a misunderstanding but I'm just so tired of feeling top shelf gameplay-wise but second-rate socially; what the hell does it take to become one of those pen players that everyone looks up to and wants to play with and talk to and everything???

Wait a minute I sound like an ego-freak afjdkfnkdnfkf Emphasis on the I WANT TO BE PROVEN WRONG part of this lmao. Improvement in this game is a cycle of: - I feel unstoppable cause of what I’ve learned - Get stopped - Learn …but I feel like my losses aren’t exposing that much about MY gameplay…

Bro I’m just trying to get the first step done. Like I’d love that but I just want to lose a set and have it be MY fault so I can like learn and improve. I can live with not constantly getting results but I want my efforts to give me more chances to learn rather than wallow around

Seed 2 in SoS*
comment in response to post
Very fair, I just keep getting glimpses of what it could look like if I got that kinda chance; diffed the HELL out of seed 2’s pen and the rest of the team despite losing the set regardless. I wanna prove myself really bad but it’s so fuckin hard to find opportunities without +3 access!!!

Damn guess I’ll die

I really think that a pen is required for Naut. I played vs another Naut in bracket and they were way scarier cause they were paired with a pen which let them play much more free and let them delete people so easily. They didnt even play better than you, they just had the right comp
comment in response to post
I’ve also come to the conclusion recently that storm pushes your pace waaaaaaaay better than splashdown does, it’s just harder
comment in response to post
Vexplo: perfect, powerful kit that main is too exploitable to use Cexplo: odd kit that offers protection from your greatest weaknesses Naut 47: powerful tools with decent synergy attached to a self-sufficient main Naut 79: decent tools with terrible mechanical main weapon synergy
comment in response to post
Now looking at Naut with nearly identical kits, but the main importantly is in the top like 3 at shutting down rushdown. You’re still susceptible to specials but like Explo, that has to be dealt with on a comp-building and awareness level and neither kit really offers you tools against that weakness
comment in response to post
Vexplo fucking loved both sensor and storm, and on paper it feels like the perfect kit yet Explosher as a main loses to 2 things: rushdown and specials. Sensor and Storm do nearly nothing to help that and so your superior range and painting power does nothing. Wall + Splashdown is wack but it helps.
comment in response to post
Ok so I think learning why Cexplo is better than Vexplo is gonna help you better understand why I think 47 is better than 79: Both mains are slow but extremely powerful, so they want to position as aggressively as they can get away with…

It feels great to have as a swap for specific mapmodes and even matchups.

Need a break from captaining and being on a team cause my mental got really bad getting wrapped up in improvement and skill comparison and not reaching goals etc etc etc. I also need to like actually connect to the community and play pickups and stuff. tl;dr: a lot but alls good with Lunar Eclipse
comment in response to post
Actually that’s just day 2, so it’s more like 24 hours of professionally produced Splatoon content between day 1 and day 2 across all 4 divisions. Like… this shit is possible and needs to be replicated.
comment in response to post
There’s still 12+ hours of Casted + Commentated content from it to go watch. There will likely be a PodCCAst recapping the events too; it ain’t too late to get in on it. Of everything I’ve played both collegiate and otherwise, nothing compares to what they did here.
