The names of my last three games combined contain 11 instances of letter O and only one other vowel. This is not intentional, I only noticed it now. I guess I have some weird subconscious preference for the letter O 🤷‍♂️

Finally time to make some improvements to the rendering of my cozy town building game. I just got a first version of screen space ambient occlusion working, using GT-VBAO. I've known this for a long time, but it still amazes me how much of a difference ambient occlusion makes.

I reimplemented my custom GDScript particle system as C++ module. Per-frame update time for 2000 particles went from 6603us to 149us and there is now a lot of room for optimization. I've always known that I have to do this at some point but I have been putting it off. #gamedev #godotengine
