I'm *soooo* glad I don't live in NYC and have to deal with this election! From outside, the politics and bureaucracy of the city are strange and unfathomable. 🤷 A friend from there has been telling me that ranked choice is always better than first past the post. I'm not sure, but waiting to see it.

The reason I love Ed Zitron's writing is that he keeps pointing at how much utter BS the media is spewing, and how much they avoid doing the basic parts of journalism, verifying statements and providing real context. So much is broken and all runs on vibes and rumor: www.wheresyoured.at/sic/

Devs, here's what I don't get. If we stop hiring recent CS grads because an LLM can do a big part of their work, how do they ever acquire the skills they'd grow in their first decade of work? I look back on my first decade and sometimes shudder, but the skills I built became very strong over time. 🤷

The dangerous but obscure part of the hateful racist Trump/maga anti-immigrant movement, is that the US is demographically doomed if we don't keep drawing immigrants. Our economy is built on a sustaining supply of young people entering the system, what happens if that stops? A nation of retirees? 🤷🙄

If Trump wasn't such a weak-willed bloviator he'd send US Marshalls out to force Elon to take drug tests. If he isn't clean, he can't manage any bit of SpaceX or Starlink, both are military staples. I think that people need to root out and stop imbibing in inside-the-Beltway legacy media. It is all garbage, don't believe or repeat it.
