I do art & writing & dreamwork & tarot & shamanism. I think I might be retired because I don't have a job. 🤷 I used to work as a dev & a visual artist before that. I admire reason, but I'm not a rationalist nor materialist. Remedios Varo is my hero!

No longer?
I don't see that anyone he got in the cabinet is pushing back, that was the main criterion for getting in, and the other one was being judged as looking good on TV. And *none* of them think more than one grift, *ahem* I mean "move" at a time.
A box of hyenas, but worse. (Sorry, hyenas!)

…but in private, they couldn't deny their real experiences with deceased loved ones. I think they were very hungry to talk about it and I'd given them permission, I was "safe."
So I make it a habit to sometimes talk about heretical things, I'm OK with the jibes because I see that some will respond.

…things, and in the lunchroom I was asked about my mother, I mentioned that she'd contacted me after she died and that I found comfort, etc.
A few rolled their eyes at this, but over the next week, about ten of them saw me alone and talked to me about their similar experiences. In public, skeptics…

I also feel impelled to add this tale. Years ago I had a contract job at a tech company. The staff were nice people, but most never took a humanities course and they were all used to scoffing at woo topics and making snide remarks. My mother had just passed and I wasn't feeling up to just ignoring…

If broadly educated, I talk about the history of Hermeticism and the Renaissance, and how this forms some of the bedrock of modern beliefs. I also try to implant the idea that, yes, empiricism is powerful, but how to deal with things outside its domain? What about Creativity? Dreams? Inspiration?

We are not the same.

A deep dive on this is beyond my meager abilities, but with Neptune (and Saturn) spending the next few years opposing his Sun, I would guess that he's not going to make especially clear decisions about things like running for President.
Maybe he'll decide to go to a monastery? 🤷

If he is then we should see him visiting Black churches in the early primary states later this year!
I think he knows it would be quite an uphill struggle for him, and that's why he's been willing to piss people off lately. Maybe somebody has a nativity for him and would be willing to look at this?

I've been using DuckDuckGo since it debuted and I used to bother to compare results to Google, which rarely showed much difference for my mostly-text searches. They added an "AI Assist" option a while ago, which I turned off immediately and it never returned. Very tolerable, low-key UI.

What is at the heart of his resentment such that he wants to kill so many Americans or make them suffer horribly? Is he getting back at us for the horrors for his family in the past? If it isn't resentment, what is it?

When FB went public our little visualization co. tried building a photo app to run on their APIs. The moment I started interacting with their tech team I realized they were not interested in building good products or quality engineering. Definitely mediocre and careless, and not at all trustworthy.🙄

For a long time I've told my friends who never worked in a corporate environment that you could replace most C suites with random people and it would likely run better and do better work. Even though I show them stuff like this they don't believe--"No, they can't be like that, it would be insane!" 🤷

It always astonishes me how people think their votes contain secret messages. If I vote for Jill Stein, Dems will then pay attention to me and do what I want. Or, if I vote for Trump, he'll notice us and treat my community better. 🙄🤷

…a small number (2-3) to derail ANY discussion without moderators. You can start with minimal moderation, but when you reach a certain point of being notable, boom, the tiny group of disruptors will appear and you have to purge them to save the community.
BSky needs private groups if this is wanted.

For 40 years I've used BBSs, email lists, dialup services, usenet, social media, web forums. NONE of these worked for discussion when anyone can walk in and hijack/throw-bombs. Optimal experience was 190 users 35 them very active, serious no-nonsense moderation. It only takes a concerted effort by…

And it also seems we live in an age where so many people think that there are simple solutions to complex problems. So they get hyped up about whatever "silver bullet" they think will solve problems, and then get frustrated when others don't agree or even care. So, vent on social media, right?! 🙄
comment in response to

Yeah, it's strange how social media seems to always devolve into a system where you have to spend a lot of time blocking people who just vent & scream & attack. I've shifted to doing regular zooms with people who want to talk about specific subjects-no attacks. Is it because we are faceless on SM? 🤷

Cousin Jeff the axe-wielder came to the family picnic, and well, grandma was old anyway. He's seen the error of his ways, now, I'm sure, so we should "invite him back into the tent." I'm sure he's fine now! 🤷
The error is that this Voter Problem isn't driven by economics, but by racism & bigotry. 🙄

If I had to pay for it, I'd pass because so much of my value came from doing the detailed research and testing myself.

--The really hard parts of dev work, like dealing with people, and debugging big complex systems, is not in there. I reached that level of skill by years of problem solving. Will future devs reach that level without the decades of scars and successes? 🤷
