I wonder if I’ll know what it feels like when I do earn it, But until then, I have so many other things to do, And there isn’t time for writing, Not that I deserve it yet, anyway, But at least I got stuff done… (Zachary Franciscus: 02/22/2025)

So I won’t write, But there is still so much else that I should be doing. More things are done now, Hollow feeling remains, but stuff was done. I’m scared to peek around the corner and see if I can write, Because I’m always watching myself, And I haven’t earned it yet.

Because there is so much else that I should be doing. Do more and earn it, Do more and prove you deserve it, It’s just writing, though; shouldn’t it be simpler? No, it’s time, It’s wasted time, It’s time that could be spent doing other things, So many other things.

That means a great deal to me. Sincerely, thank you for reaching out. It made my night!

(3) I will have opinions, but at the very least I know that when I speak them publicly it will be with the freedom of mind from knowing I'm giving a thought-through view and not just another knee-jerk tantrum to get lost in the cesspool. Now, next year, forever... Here we go, Steelers 🖤💛

(2) I want to look back on my public statements and know that I took a breath before I typed. I don't want to walk anything back or defend some anger-laden take that I made in a heated moment.

I have lost count of the number of stories this has killed or plots I have had to unnecessarily adjust to remove or minimize any horses. Which brings me to the point of this entire post, which is that I would love advice from people that I am sure have dealt with similar roadblocks in their writing.

I'll realize that I don't have the exact, irrefutable details about how a horse would respond in this particular moment and thus I have no business writing about it at all. As you can imagine, this usually marks the end of my writing session and sometimes the idea as a whole.

This means that because fantasy is my preferred genre I consistently find myself in situations where I need to write about horses. It is an absolute guarantee that very soon into some mundane situation involving said horse.

This means that I normally end up paralyzed by some question I don't know the definitive answer to or some random specific detail that I refuse to possibly get wrong on the off chance a reader notices. I call this my "Horse Problem". I am not a horse expert; my knowledge on the subject is minimal.

When I'm reading, I assume all the little questions and side tangents my mind takes will be the same ones every reader follows as well.
