i'm not saying the character is a "bad guy" either but jesus christ is the bar so low that not apologizing for assaulting someone is negligible bc they were just doing their job?

it's truly such a lovely film!!! i haven't gone back and read it so i cannot speak to the adaptation choices, but the emotion of it is so palpable, and you're right, profound. still think so much about certain images and feel them deep in my bones.

i think i've been looking at my stats too much and trying to get the % reviewed up which is not really useful to me. and thank you! you're always so kind <3

i'm not really sure what it is, because whether it's a couple sentences or a couple paragraphs, i want to feel like myreview captures some of my thoughts or my experience? my review of THE ROOM NEXT STORE is short but it's something i wanted to say, vs. my SING SING review which feels more forced?

did this last night... movie of all time! when romy puts samuel's tie in her mouth, one woman loudly said, "ew!"

that didn't work BUT apparently the machine has to be turned off when i put it in descale mode! finally the descale light is off!!!

descaled it twice and then just did a 3rd "descaling mode" rinse w/o actually using any solution. now im leaving it unplugged and off for 30 minutes hoping this will work 😭

yep. and the character is clearly a kind of fantasy, but until the end the film sprinkled in humanity - and i understand splitting the difference there not working for someone - but the last act kind of wipes it out completely. someone beamed down to save romy's life/marriage. the end!

truly! even just for how he and the relationship impacted romy, felt like it did her journey a disservice to have him walk out of the film. felt unfinished, maybe?

absolutely! she knows what the people are wondering!

thank you, savannah! and yeah, i think babygirl really thought it was giving us a "she can have it all!!!" ending and like... maybe, but i felt elated many times during the movie and the ending was notably not one of them!!!
