Also: so many of the people sampled from the skeletal remains and modern data sets had P. aeruginosa in their calculus O_O #MicroSky

It's important to note that the study found no M. leprae sequences in their metagenomic data, but the skeletons sampled did have physical manifestations of leprosy.

I was lucky enugh to have history taught this way at GCSE & A-level. The emphasis on critiquing sources and the motivations behind them, and then constructing an argument to support your interpretation, was a crucial foundation for going on to study science.
