I'm about to drop a piece at The Atlantic on this Pentagon purge. As I warned, Trump is capturing Justice, Intelligence, the military. This is praetorianism, pure and simple.

Knowing what we know now, about the demographics, about the vibes ™, about the disinformation, IF Chris Christie, Nicki Haley, and Mike Pence had spoken at the DNC convention & acted as surrogates for Kamala Harris, does she win? It's impossible to prove a counterfactual but I'm not sure she does.

The legacy media was quick to defend Fox in 2009 when it thought Obama was being mean. Today with the AP? Crickets. The difference is that media orgs knew they had nothing to fear from Obama, so protesting was free. Making a stink over the AP today might actually cost them something.

My frustration about MG Donahoe's treatment and the Army's aversion to social media engagement when it comes to displays of the Army Values was reflected in my comments. If we want the Army to do better, we need to explain it through things like this so the powers that be can clue in.
