It's getting tiring to keep saying this, but for posterity's sake I will: any previous administration would have been instantly sunk by this. Before January 20, 2017, this would have been the most stunning corruption scandal in the history of the American justice system. Now, it's...a Thursday.

Wow. The NYT reports that Acting Deputy AG Emil Bove coached Mayor Eric Adams' attorneys on what to argue in order to get the charges dismissed (namely, that the charges were interfering with the mayor's ability to cooperate with Trump's immigration crackdown): www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/n...

A Democratic mayor of NYC directly colluding with a Republican DOJ to get charges against him dropped in exchange for supporting the administration's policies, with the implicit threat that if the mayor doesn't cooperate, the charges could be restored. What???
It's honestly funny to watch shows like "The West Wing" and see what passes for political scandals, knowing what goes on *daily* in this administration.
Meanwhile the GOP in Congress seems perfectly happy to accommodate them.
If Trump stole a laptop from someone’s desk, they would yell about a Democrat taking a pencil off someone’s desk.
People here are hearing what you're taking time to say.
-American. Crickets in Congress.
He was right.
They must be thinking "Wait, why was this such a big deal? Isn't this just what politics is like?"
