It occurred to me that firing thousands of highly skilled, highly knowledgeable people, some of whom had access to highly secret information, and now have grievances and an urgent need for money, might be considered a security risk. Like, a big one.

I think one of the big issues with the firehose of doom isn’t the doom, but the building impact of witnessing it without being able to connect it with some kind of action. Either our own or seeing someone else’s. So we have an urge to comment, but it doesn’t help, it isn’t action, and we know it.

I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.
