I, for one, am glad that people who are going to get £325k that they haven't earned might have to pay less tax on any amount over that threshold. It's good that Labour are tackling this injustice

It's a rare thing these days, A Westminster MP telling the truth. @zarahsultana.bsky.social

Well done Leinster. A masterclass of rugby, both sides of the ball. A real team performance. "Bottlers" no more. #LeinsvsBulls

Who needs JGP! 🤣🤣 #LeinsvsBulls

Anyone entering into negotiations w the US is insane. Tell them whatever lies they want to hear and hope they get caught up in internal turmoil and can't cause problems abroad

So… does Iran have a right to defend itself?

"Perhaps I’m being naive. Perhaps I’ve got my head so far into the sand I’m about to meet the cast of Dune. But my many nightmares about the future just don’t currently include being bankrupted by an artificial knock-off of myself." Some thoughts on AI.

On the Today programme, Kemi Badenoch tells Emma Barnett: “You are asking questions that are changing the very focus of what it is I’m talking about.” Yes, that’s how interviews work.

The 'Free' Market will never eliminate anything it can make massive profits on. In fact it will increase it, as you see all around you.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving. There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later. They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

BBC NEWS “In the last few hours Russia has begun targeting major British cities with an army of nuclear drones, but we’re interrupting coverage of the attack because Nigel Farage has just farted after eating an enormous ploughman’s lunch.”

I completely disagree. Being called “woke” is a f**king badge of honour. It’s the biggest compliment going. If people are so morally hollow that they turn basic human kindness into an insult then good luck to them. But woke is one of the few good things we’ve got going. So, woke it is.

🧵 Several people have raised questions about what I meant by "deservedly so" when referring to the decline of institutional trust. It's a fair question, so I want to explain that, because it sits at the heart of my work on how democracies collapse when their epistemic foundations rot.

Fair play to Greta Thurnberg and the unquestionable courage in her conviction. She became public enemy number 1 for unimpressive middle aged men who’ve barely made it out their own street but she absolutely deserves huge respect along with everyone else on the flotilla for their integrity and grit.

My final piece of journalism. And I think it’s an important one. news.sky.com/story/orderi...

The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world. They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

They know it will cost more money than they are prepared to invest to stop breaking the law. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

In amongst all the excitement I fear many have missed this outstanding bit of trolling by Friedrich Merz. The Chancellor gifted Trump a gilded framed copy of his grandfather’s German birth certificate... reminding Americans that Trump is both the child and grandchild of migrants.

Not quite in the Juncker class of giving Trump a picture of a cemetery, but pretty good.

The Polish foreign minister, a writer and journalist who covered the Soviet war in Afghanistan in the 1980s, clearly knows a thing or two about a patiently-timed response.

My call for an independent inquiry into the UK's role in Gaza has passed its 1st reading in Parliament. We will establish the truth over the UK’s complicity in genocide - and we will bring about justice for the Palestinian people.

There was a lovely piece in the weekend FT about Hu Anyan, a warehouse worker & courier in China who has emerged as one of the country's new literary talents. www.ft.com/content/0350...

Appalling sportsmanship from the Sharks. Disgraceful conduct. #ShavsMun.

An error strewn performance from Leinster here. Feels like they are overplaying every move. #LeinvsSca
