How fabulous! You had better light than I did when I tried to photograph our visitor last night...

It's done nothing to change my opinion that 99.9% of remixes are pointless creative wastelands. Should've got @maxtundra.com on the case.

20 species is very respectable then. I'm fortunate as I'm surrounded by farmland with bits of woodland...which is precisely why we chose to live here. Nature's the best. That and music.

South Derbyshire countryside. Pretty much the most inland point of the UK.

I don't tend to count, but after seeing this I thought I'd compare on my lunchtime stroll. I think I got to 25, including Garden Warbler, Skylark and a pair of calling Ravens. It's a great time of year.

I love Merlin, and I recently discovered that my imitations of both hoopoe and cuckoo are sufficiently adequate to trick it.

Fond memories of you playing a VHS recording of the Ink Me video at Tim's house after a party.

...I came to his music by a very convoluted route, hearing Bob Hund's splendid Swedish reworking of Pere Ubu's "Final Solution" before I'd heard the original masterpiece. youtu.be/dO_sslo8Bhg?...

It's a fair point that Kallax are open-backed and the Charles Jacobs ones have something solid to prevent the records from sliding too far back. In my experience the Kallax are nicely finished and more customisable (if that's of any significance)

Ikea's kallax performs the task sufficiently for me...

"What's the Matter?" Using only their bodily senses, celebrities must identify one teaspoon of a mystery substance or 'Matter' after another. One round is called "A Matter of Taste" Final round: "A Matter of Life or Death" where some substances are highly toxic. They play until all but one are dead.

that's strong. It reminds me of something I came up with a few years back... "Did you hear about the bloke who was allergic to metaphors?.... He had analogy"

No, my starter was a homophone of a popular 70s glam band.

Plus it's entirely justified slagging off the abominable adverts which no-one tunes in to hear.

For sure, I can't listen to him. On the flipside I enjoyed Mark Radcliffe's suggestion the other week (after an intrusive BBC TV trail), that there should be interruptions to TV programmes with people shouting about what's on the radio. But Radcliffe has both wit and a cheeky charm.
