Nvm. It wasn't that bad. I did in fact save, as it turns out.

The worst thing I've probably done like this was name a variable "fuitwheel" instead of "fruitwheel" because I was sitting there like, "hehe... fuit gummy...."
Like the absence of the autocomplete would let me know if I typed it wrong, but my god. (I still thought it was funny though)

Yeah, I usually make legible variables if they're going to be used a lot, but I get lazy for local variables... I usually go back and leave code comments if I need to reference them again.
But also naming things "corn" makes me laugh. I have to take the small wins where I can.

I'll have to fiddle with the physics settings to remove the jitter...
It was also an issue when I worked on zoo-ika that I never really uh... fixed... I just turned down the gravity and the jitter went away... >_>
(i've heard complaints that the game is too slow because of this... and they're right)

made it a little snappier. added some attacks. (I thought about drawing attack sprites, but you know what's better than drawing? not drawing anything. lol)

Did I mention that you should play Zoo-ika, the game I made last year with my friend @mayakern.bsky.social ?? Because you should.

(I've been playing Wilmot Works It Out, and I like it a lot.)

Yeah. I had that thought. That's how it tells where the corners are, so it wouldn't be hard to use that information for other purposes. I've also got a couple other ideas... We'll see what materializes (i.e.: how much work I want to do, lol).

I say "lazily," but I've been working on it (very slowly) for the better part of a week.
I'm hoping to ditch the physics colliders in lieu of something that I'll find out is stupid or not probably tomorrow...

Ah, that's fine also. It's definitely not for everyone. It just has a lot of themes that I personally enjoy (time/dimension(?) shenanigans, transhumanism, an enemies-to-lovers cat and mouse game (my sleeper agent activation phrase), two effectively immortal beings learning to love).

My favorite in recent memory is a lovely comic called Blade of the Fane by Theo Plum, and next to that is the novel This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar.
They're both very couched in their genres (fantasy and sci-fi respectively) and also very gay.

Yeah like what if I just casually wrote another 30k words for my little mermaid au vn instead of working on any of my other projects
