And all that aside, it's pretty insane that enforcing mandatory limits on screen time for sixteen year olds would be a top priority in the current political climate.

Ironically I think they're playing into their base way more than they would if they would focus on issues regarding economic policies or fighting discrimination. They are parrotting the concerns of young affluent urban parents - a group they are already winning.

However, they have attacked them in the worst ways. They focus on unpopular bans of international apps, while they have no plan to regulate American apps. They rehash concerns regarding attention spans or children being corrupted. They play into an old moral panic.

To be fair, I think attacking tech oligarchs right now could be a smart strategy. People aren't happy with the amount of power Elon Musk has gotten and the way tech billionaires are cosying up with the White House. This could even prove to be a popular rallying cry for different D. factions.

I can't scroll Twitter without getting a Musk tweet and every top comment is an OF account. Instagram literally blocks you from scrolling to watch an add. These people are high on their own supply and breaking their own apps.

People tend to forget that what is considered a political party has changed a lot throughtout history and is very different from country to country. There is a strong argument to be made that the American parties have only become 'ideologised' since the eighties.

Why aren’t they protesting Trump now? 1. They are, it’s just not getting a lot of press attention. 2. Maybe because the state reaction to their protests were extremely swift and extremely violent.

No, the protest movement for Palestinian rights wasn’t a plot against Biden and Harris. It was a global movement against all powers that supported the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Gaza. Of course that included the American government.

Het is een half wonder dat ze er zelfs drie vrouwen in gestoken hebben. Je zou bijna verwachten dat De Wever een speech gaat geven dat hij persoonlijke woke verslagen heeft.

Also the whole focus on the ‘underpinning ideology of MAGA’ (which they themselves agree is king of bullshit) shows how the mainstream understanding of ideology is just very lacking.

It’s very noteworthy of late how Klein can be extremely detailed in his reaction to and dialogue with the fringe far-right, but hardly every reflect on any movements or coalitions on ‘the left.’ Him referring to a podcast as an example of leftist politics is telling.
