Drew something like a lot like this about five months ago. Glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this way lol

This looks amazing! It looks like the kind of sonic cartoon I would have loved as a kid!

Anyone know who drew this?

So glad we’re handling this like adults.

This movie is fucking incredible. It’s the reason I wanted to become an animator.

Is the cell phone meant to look like a Pokémon card at the beginning? Cuz it’s kinda cool that it does, imo.

Sorry to get your hopes up lol

Oh, that’s just the name of the book. The comics are mostly normal ones. It’s one of those compilations of a year’s worth of strips for a particular newspaper comic, like what the Garfield books do.

Was gonna say, the first thing it reminded me of was the cover of one of the collections.

Pacing myself is what works for me. I read what I can, stop when I feel like I’ve had enough, take a breath to let it all sink I, look around me, and if I’m not in any immediate danger myself, I continue about my day.
I realize not everyone has this privilege, it just works for me.

Sure. A type of person who cares more about things than they do about people.

A lot of the insults seemed to be about the fact that they were women.

Mel, I don’t know if you read these messages, but while you’re still here and I have the opportunity, your movies have had a profound influence on my own sense of humor and life as a whole that I’m still grateful for it. The Producers remains my #1 favorite movie to this day. Thanks for everything!

Wow. SO much misogyny in the comments here.
Like… SO much.

As much as I’m sure there are folks who say they don’t like when SOAD “get political.”
(In other words, my answer to your question is yes)

Thank you to the citizens doing their civic duty to defend their friends and neighbors from ICE. To all targeted, I'm so sorry that you have to defend your own lives from this. To both parties, you are sending a clear message: "WE ARE NOT PUTTING UP WITH THIS SHIT."
Never again means never again.

I don't know what else I can contribute to this, even who to throw money at (I'm open to suggestions). I only talk so much about my politics online because I don't think my opinions add much. Listen to the folks who really devote themselves full time to causes, they know what they're talking about.
comment in response to

A major difference is the citizens in question aren't putting up with this AT ALL. I don't "love to see" this, but I do love the swift, concentrated and continued action of all opposed to ICE. It's cynical to say that a common enemy always brings us together, but the results speak for themselves.

I was brought up to be vigilant against anything that even remotely resembled the Holocaust. "Never again" means "never again." Innocent civilians being snatched from their homes to be "sent away" by a military under the order of a dictatorial hate monger looks to me like how the Holocaust sounded.

I’ll say that I never want to hear “Both parties are equally bad” ever again as often as I need to, but this may be the first time I’ve said this, and I plan on saying it more.
BOTH PARTIES ARE NOT EQUALLY S BAD! PERIOD.

“People talk loud when they wanna sound smart, right?”

My worry is that it’s going to become a catch all insult for anything you don’t like that feels uninspired, the way “autotune” became for music and “photoshopped” became for images.

As the last millennial who isn’t bothered enough by ads to set up an ad blocker, I gotta say, I don’t mind some of these.
(I just mute them anyway)

That’s why it took so long for me to make an account here. I was trying to make it so that NO politics reached me, and that just wasn’t going to happen, simply because, whether or not I paid it any mind, people were going to posts about politics on the internet while I’m using the internet.

No movement?
At all?
Whatsoever?
What about Black Lives Matter?
What about the protests going on in in LA right now?
Are those not movements? Are you the literal only person calling out all propaganda?

For someone who claims to not blame people for their own oppression, you sure like to talk about them like they’re idiots.

I’m paranoid but I’m not THAT paranoid.

A little levity in an otherwise humorless situation.
comment in response to

No, but I will blame the people who are too fucking proud to take the opportunity to at least have significantly LESS oppression when it presented itself because it’s “not good enough.”
Conspiracies are bullshit. This is undecided voters fault. Period.
comment in response to
post
It’s the lesser of two evils because it’s not even fucking close to evil.
I’d rather have a party that tries and fails to lead with kindness (cuz at least that means they TRIED) than ones that succeeds at oppression.

If the democratic choice was an excellent female, then I’d say the DNC did pretty fucking well. It was the undecided voters who said “Nyeee, she’s not better ENOUGH! I don’t just want an okay president, so I’ll setting for a fascist so I can keep my pride!”
That’s them. That’s what they sound like.
