That's Xbox leadership for you. They're talking but not saying anything. By the way, backwards compatibility wouldn't be a big deal if the next Xbox would be a proper console. On the same architecture it would be a given. But it will be a Windows PC, that's why they're already trying to reassure us.

The loss of the rocket is one thing, but do we know anything about the extent of the damage at the site itself? That could have farther reaching consequences.

No one will want the next Xbox after the failure of the Series X|S, but it's not even the goal for Microsoft. That's why they sell their games on PlayStation, because what matters to them is to sell games, not hardware. In fact, they're pulling out of Central Europe just now.

Personally, I'd always take a lower resolution for better performance and that's exactly the case here. Stable 60 fps is more important to me, even if it means a blurrier image. So this is a good tradeoff, but the game is surely not optimized properly on either platform.

The thumbnail reminds me, I wish they re-released the Matrix Awakens tech demo with UE 5.5 or something. I wonder how the presentation and performance could be improved on consoles with newer versions of the engine.

Told you this would happen. It doesn't matter what they say, one week later no one remembers it. They will be lovers again soon.

To be honest, I never felt BioWare ever really fit into EA's portfolio. I'm quite sure EA executives have no idea what to do with single-player games or RPGs. They expect something from the team that it can't deliver. As a result they completely messed up the studio.

Unless it's a specific contract with Nintendo, I don't see why Shin'en doesn't bring this series to other platforms. The Touryst is awesome and these titles would flourish on consoles, especially since there's basically no competition in this genre.

Yesterday Russia wanted to conquer Ukraine. Today they want the NATO to completely withdraw from the Eastern countries. Every day they can come up with a new reason for war. They will never stop with this unless they are forced to by financial means.

Interesting that X has 20x the users yet you have almost as many followers here. I guess post discoverability and engagement is much more organic here. The other platform is purely algorithm- and bot-driven.

It will probably cost twice as much, if not more.

The only thing worse than this showcase is that people are now okay with something like this. It was nothing but a playlist of assorted trailers. People already forgot what platform holder shows used to be about. There's no excitement in this at all.

Only what they call "consoles" in the future will most probably be PC hardware on either AMD or ARM foundation, playing PC games (Microsoft Store and Steam), with the previous console library only emulated in some form.
comment in response to post
Since they're not making more consoles, they have to bring the existing library over to PC in some form.

What you don't understand is nothing either of these people say is worth a dime. A month from now they could be best buddies because they know voters will forget. It's all a theater that has no basis on either side. You voted for this, you wanted a country like that, now just enjoy and don't think.

The thing you mentioned about the tarmac texture. I remember Daytona USA using the same trick. Even as you stand on the grid the tarmac looks like as if you were at speed. It's very clever and looks great to this day.

Everybody adds that they bought/preordered one, but they're not excited. I think Nintendo only cares about the buy/preorder part. Looks like a working strategy to me.
