Three years after Warner Bros. Discovery shelved it as a tax write-off, THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP is the third-most-watched film on HBO Max. For a franchise that's been thumbing its nose at the bosses for nearly a century, this couldn't have been scripted any better. #LooneyTunes #FilmSky

Lost Movie #134 "A Girl of Yesterday" is a 1915 silent comedy directed by Allan Dwan, starring Mary Pickford in her first mature role. Pickford also wrote the scenario. The cast included her brother Jack, Marshall Neilan, Donald Crisp, Frances Marion, and aviation pioneer Glenn L. Martin.

Saw 28 YEARS LATER. Speaking as someone who's not the biggest fan of Danny Boyle, I was startled at how poetic and contemplative the film is. Likely the closest we'll ever get to a Terence Malick-directed zombie flick. Not that the film's stingy with the gore, violence and zombie penises, mind you.

Pete Candoli’s power and bandstand flamboyance earned him the title of "Superman with a horn" He began to appear on stage in a Superman costume, leaping out from the wings to electrifying effect, or sliding down a wire from a high balcony, arriving with split-second timing to play his high notes.

ZaSu Pitts has terrible news for Rudolph Valentino in A SOCIETY SENSATION. She's only a minor character and the film is a standard romantic programmer but I really do wish it had been just them having goofy adventures together.
