Bringing this back because this has been my life for the last week:

An absolute giant among galaxies. Shown in X-Ray - NGC 6872, or Condor galaxy. It is the largest known galaxy - at least 5 times the size of the Milky Way. I wonder what the night sky would look like. Image Credit: #NASA, #ESA, J. Schmidt, L. Frattare, J. Major πŸ” #Astronomy #Galaxy #Space

A colossal gas giant exoplanet and its companion moon, locked in an eternal gravitational embrace. A vivid cosmos alive with color, whispering of enigmas waiting beyond the visible spectrum.

I didn't draw a lot this year but I still had fun!!! πŸ₯Ή

if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted β€” mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."

Merry Christmas from everyone here at GLITCH!!!!!πŸŽ„

Merry Christmas to those on earth !! :D

it’s gonna be hard to pick my favorite space images of 2024 when we got such amazing ones like these

Supernovae are spectacular spectacles. These enormous explosions result in the dramatic death of a star. Supernovae are thought to be necessary for life in the Universe. Nearly all of the elements in the human body were made in these incredible outbursts. You are star stuff.

I visited Twitter's gravesite today and it's like walking around an abandoned mall. The structure is there but it's all garbage and weeds inside.

A digital painting of Thor's helmet nebula from 2023, an object I've re-visited a number of times throughout the years. I was really proud of my progress with this one!

I do astronomy for a living, and images like this *still* take my breath away. What a beautiful universe we live in. Even in the midst of trouble, grief, & anything you might be struggling with (like we all are) - try to seek out the beauty. It helps ❀️

i don’t think earth is special enough for aliens to visit it. plus the odds of them coming to our little blue rock out of EVERYWHERE else they could go in the universe are slim to none. do i think alien life exists? hell yeah. i just don’t think we’ll encounter it unfortunately.
