Whoa

Very cool to see Mike Pondsmith won the Rick Loomis Service Award for his contributions not only to games but to the industry and hobby of gaming over his career. www.originsawards.net/news/2025-wi...

NYC, please... get this right!!!

Last time for the night crew! Trying to get our first 100 followers for the Five Fires campaign: www.backerkit.com/c/projects/t... Thanks everyone for your support so far! Also, I really love this comment about Five Fires from @sprintingowl.bsky.social:

We ending tonight's session right before the last big fight of Rusthenge. Gonna be awesome!!

I'm about to go live with @superdillin.bsky.social to discuss silly tier lists come join us! Twitch.tv/OneShotRPG

BREAKING: The Vampires from Sinners have endorsed Cuomo for Mayor of NY.

One of the reasons I think roll20 is making a bad stance is it means that this tactic can be replicated for anything. It only takes a few ppl to claim that something is "political" to drive something off the platform. This is what happens when you have many rules, but no values.

For the afternoon crew... How quickly can we get to our first 100 followers for Five Fires?

Rascal is so damn important yall. If you can support, please do!

Heroes! We are please to announce: 🎉🎉THE 2025 OSN PATREON DRIVE!!🎉🎉 Two weeks of streamed events, in support of our Patreon! Links! patreon.com/oneshotpodcast twitch.tv/oneshotrpg Week 1 schedule in the image!

I'm having a rough month physically and financially but have secured a psych appointment a few days from now. If you wanna help take some of the pressure off C/V/Ko-fi: OrionDBlack

Wrong link on previous post! Please follow Five Fires, a TTRPG about 80s and 90s Hip Hop! Coming in August: www.backerkit.com/call_to_acti...

Good question!

Random tech/ttrpg question: are there people in the TTRPG space who could use help setting up an email newsletter built on Ghost (complete with hosting, etc)?

Oh one more thing! Five Fires, my ttrpg about 80s-90s era Hip Hop, will have an edited and laid out version released around the time of this keynote. Current ashcan is here: thoughtcrimegames.itch.io/five-fires

Also, a few more words on our first session of Raging River City Never Sleeps (RRCNS). My goal with the RPS system of Mindcade games was to emulate the overall loop of retro arcade games. There is a discovery portion, and choreography portion.

Roll20, which owns DriveThruRPG, told Rebel Scum's designer (@9thlevelgames.bsky.social) that allowing their "hateful content" and political speech on its platform constituted a "slippery slope."

I'll be giving a keynote speech at the Generation Analog Conference this year! My talk is entitled "Thinking of a Master Plan: Hip Hop, TTRPGs, and the Power of Imaginative Defiance" The event is online and free! Sign up here: www.eventbrite.com/e/generation...

Love to see it!♥️ Periodic reminder: All of the original cowboys were Black. "Boy" was an insulting term for a grown man. A white ranch worker was a "cowhand." a Black ranch worker was a "cowboy." And "buckaroo" means "cowboy," because someone in California back in the day couldn't spell "Vaquero."

Tomorrow I turn 42 & I'm depressed about it. I need emergency dental work—I'm broke, unemployed and w/o health insurance. Been hard to get a job in the industry or even just retail. And now taking care of my dad's mental health decline. For my birthday, please donate or share gofund.me/ea7d3005

Just had an a great play session of Raging River Never Sleeps with @vaklam.bsky.social, @conorvoice.com and another buddy not on bsky. I need to tweak some abilities and numbers, but hole cow this game feels just like a beat em up! So happy with the game flow!

Digging through some files and came across an oldie but goodie from the 4e days -- Worldbreakers! Long before legendary actions, I had made this system in 4e to make some epic boss fights. One of the best of them was Etherkai, the Nightmare Dragon.

About half of every dollar spent at Tabletop Bookshelf goes directly to independent publishers and creators Another 20-30% goes to promoting their work. Most of rest goes to storing and distributing that work. None of this happened without an audience willing to pay for that work #PaidRPGDay

I think people underestimate their ability to help support a game just by telling a friend about it. If I hear a designer talk about their game, I'm not usually convinced. If my friend Will tells me to check out a game, I'm looking. Your words, oftentimes, are just as powerful as your wallet.

Oh. This sounds amazing.

Following another Free RPG Day, I'm proud to kick off the second annual #PaidRPGDay! Today, I'm offering my games at a price you can pay to have them! Take a look and consider supporting your favorite indie publisher today, whoever they may be. Shop (with money) now: bannerlessgames.itch.io
