I have the opposite. I recognize faces instantly but names can sometimes take forever to pop into my mind. I had to learn to compensate by holding conversations without names.

I have no idea, but maybe @debraelfenbein.bsky.social could help? She is a librarian that was telling me about some funding challenges with digital library options earlier this week.

I mean it's not perfect, but as something simple enough to get across the gist in a TikTok video?

I wonder if you could explain this to kids by way of Pokรฉmon or Magic cards.
- You're trying to build a deck.
- You buy packs. (raw materials)
- You trade for intermediate cards. (stuff you need to get to final goal)
- You trade for cards you really want.
Govts wants to tax at every level.

The writer has doubled down. It's like he profiled and promoted the CSAM guy simply for engagement.

The PlayStation 3 may have been the most popular, but IMO the most technically impressive Netflix client was on the PlayStation 2.

I'm waiting for the day that DE is developing a legacy collection for a franchise and you're sitting in the office complaining that half the collection is still in your backlog. ๐

You should be able to use any existing webcam. Just plug it in if you have one.

I am fighting the urge to immediately email the team asking for a preview copy, despite knowing that they haven't even announced an official release date yet. ๐
Can't wait to check it out myself.

My local library system has random books available in Libby and no simple way to request missing ones (this functionally is also missing from Libby). Hoopla doesn't carry everything (no Dr Who novels) but it does usually carry a complete series when it does include a book series.

The information is absolutely appreciated. Interesting reading about your library's popular borrows. I use Hoopla primarily for sci-fi novels (Stargate) and graphic novels. I don't mind the waits for Libby borrows but what drew me to Hoopla were the complete collections.

I don't know how much SFPL pays for Hoopla, but by comparison to the library in the article, we get 30 Hoopla borrows/month. So I'm assuming SFPL either has a better deal or is just well funded. That said I borrow a few books/month but never get close to 30.

Having grown up in Chicago, I'm the one in the t-shirt and shorts here in SF that all the locals look at like I'm crazy. I understand where those kids are coming from.

If you like Libby, you should also install Hoopla. I have both installed and the collections are different. Hoopla doesn't have a "read in Kindle" feature like Libby, but it also doesn't have title limits on borrows (you just have a monthly limit). They make a great pair.

So Florida does have an anti-SLAPP law, but for the more knowledgeable folks out there, what would happen if someone in CA were sued like this in a state w/o anti-SLAPP. Would you be able to use CA's anti-SLAPP to defend a nuisance suit over a video filmed in CA but sued in another state?

"The McNally Video incorporates an EXACT copy of excerpts of the Proven Video at its outset and uses it without transformation or commentary, except to frame it for ridicule."
Last I checked ridicule fell under commentary/opinion, w/ full 1A protection.
Did an actual lawyer write this complaint? ๐

You can get monies but unless super popular it will be a small amount of monies. Otherwise you may need to disclose to work that you are getting paid for a hobby just to ensure it isnโt considered a CoI.
