I’ll take a Sears-Kenmore top loading washer from the 1970s over any of these current ones, front or top loading. Same with dryers. Knobs and buttons. No LCDs, no IoT features.

When you say blame, I assume you mean formally hold them liable. This was in Florida, so such a law there seems unlikely. More likely to prosecute the toddler, even in death.
