i think the biggest fundamental Thing turn-based rpg devs can do to improve their combat is to consider turn economy. there's a lot deeper nuance you could take into this, but on the surface level, everyone who's played an older game has felt this: why use poison when the battle is over next turn?

Mapping aside, I am in the process of writing a design document for Anamnesis. Its main ideas are taken from Final Fantasy Type-0's Orience, a world that can no longer remember the dead, bits of Xenosaga and a sprinkling of Kabbalah. #indiegamedev

Atm I'm dividing my game-dev time between my personal project (Reverie's Repose) and the collab project with my good artist friend (Anamnesis: Memoria War) :3 Although I've been using RPGMaker since 2009, Anamnesis is my first real stab at making a 30+ hour jRPG epic! ^^ #indiegamedev

Now the hardest part of finishing up a game arrives: polish and testing. Still have 10 days to go but a lot of inexperienced devs severely underestimate just how much time it takes to present a bug-free (and polished) game.
