Would you play a game that looks like this?

And if I can lend you my 2 cents.. Don't make an epic to being with, but release something small that can be expanded later.
Lol of course!
This looks gorgeous
Gameplay is RPG mechanics with some sim and survival elements mixed in.
(Depending, of course, on the gameplay and narrative.)
The color palette is nice. I feel like this would fit a chill rpg.
Then the environment here fits the vibe.
Good job✋️
I do think that visual appeal is crucial in getting people's initial interest however.
Thanks for the honest response.
I've developed a greater appreciation for 2D Pixel art games in recent years
Does a bear shit in the woods?
no yeah, I would.
I think I may follow.
made me chuckle
thx for the follow 💜
Make some time to do those courses, you won't regret it.
I guess the best course of action would be to find some licensable assets you can use or hire an affordable artist to work with.
Going for the secret of mana experience.
Tbh its a clickbaity question that leaves out important nuances, I'll admit.
Games that gradually increase complexity or introduce new things is my preference.
This is sumptuous PS1 background art though.
...🤭...
Obviously depends on what kind of game it is, but it would definitely be a game I'd keep an eye on.
Doing my best to make that priority!
I played TONS of games that looks like this.
It seems something about purists, but if I'm playing on a laptop the letterbox aspect (or worse, the stretched out "gnome view") is killing immersion.
Using 640x360, which imo is a great 16:9 res for modern pixel art games. Old games also missed a ton of quality of life features, which is hard to go back to.
Is it fun?
Is it a building game or an RPG?
Is it turn based?
Action combat, not turn based. A hard choice cause I enjoy both, but in my case it fits the game style better.
Simply that I can't do action jrpg.
Praise be to BG3, I can still keep playing that.
Good luck with your game.
What's the reason you can't do action jprg if I may ask?
My fingers don't move so fast and my visual reflexes are much slower too.
So even slow building games like Nimby Rails, which I love, I can't do now due to vision.
I am now down to BG3 and Ostriv.
Still looking for other options.
How do you feel about games like Ff7 remake series, which is real time but has an option to turn it into (pseudo) turn based?
But enjoyed both those titles and they are definitely a source of inspiration!
So....yes. of course.
Im mostly inspired by golden era SNES JRPGS.
It would depend entirely on what kind of game it is by genre - and w hat the actual characters look like, if there are any at all.
If this is like a no-people game where you basically build a garden or something? Yea, probably, as like, pure meditation.
When it comes to RPGs, though ...
The character art, however, would be more important — as well as the substance. What genre of RPG is it? I don't gain much enjoyment out of most horror games, as an example.
