so, I made the bat fly in and do a bite attack, and one where he flies back and then spins attacks at you. shit's cool man. I could draw weird stuff all day.

obviously my game is inspired by Shining in the Darkness and Phantasy Star. But, it's also got a lot of Dragon Quest influence as well.

okay now i have two enemies in the game. The bat is hella cool when it flaps, and kinda freaky looking in the dark. game crashes when it tries to play its other animations, didn't make them yet. D= poo

sleep? I'll sleep when you're dead. I think that's how it goes. anyway I got the little sword swing animation going, little slime gets hit, falls apart, or dodges, and it attacks at the proper position so that's cool. few things to work out with timing and events tho.

I fixed the monster idle animations not firing after the first round. what to work on now? so many things. oh, I need to do the weapon swings and monster hits.

I've never taken part in a NGL, so like, you know it wasn't me.

every time my game doesn't something unexpected and I go "what the hell computer, why are you doing crimes?!" but it's me, I did the crime, I made the criminal code

tweaking some monster animations, or well the idle animation triggers. currently it animates them for the first round, then subsequent rounds they never do idles because reasons.

when I learned to code we had libraries, no internet, and no game engines. I'd go and hope to find a book, desperately try to connect the dots but all the books essentially taught console apps in DOS. took me forever to learn how to make graphics and by then came the hell called Windows.

I was hella productive on my game this week. Haven't done as much since before the layoff. still haven't touched a guitar in a good long while.

I made my dialog window bounce and have a little flash when you hit the button to continue to the next dialog. I'm not sure if this was a good idea.

I made the Temporal anti-aliasing optional now, it'll be changeable in settings. You're gonna want it though, because without it's a dazzling sparkly ass nightmare. Maybe it's just me. I have the game set to no aliasing but TAA during movement as default. you can tweak it however you like.

probably going to tweak the text of the title and the way it animates in (I copied MegaMan X) at some point today.

finishing up the new title screen. it's really the same title screen, but I changed the tower design and so I had to redo a couple animations.

sorta annoyed at the aliasing/no aliasing trick I made when moving. When standing, there's no, crisp pixels. Then moving, alias, to hold everything together. But if you move, stop, move, stop, it's like winking at you. I need it to gradually shift and that's not a thing.
