If you want me to complete your game at a different difficulty than the one you literally designed the game around we can't be friends. My preferrence are games without a difficulty setting.

This is uncomfortably true. I am one of those people. I admire the fanfic writers for their incredible passion and drive, but struggle to eqate it with 'real' fiction. I had some bad experiences early on and am aware it's a me-problem. What should I read to change my prejudices?
