True, it sucks but it's what you gotta do. Finding love is like a poorly designed skinner box where the rat only has a 1% of getting the food every button press. Unfortunately, there isn't a secret technique to avoid it, if there were everybody would be using it.

Personally I would take some sacrificial cards and damage counters and use an adhesive to attach them to the mat so it can be displayed vertically. If you use card sleeves you could pretty convincingly print some full arts too for a bit of flair to the whole thing.

Honestly I think it would be fun if you included the Slowpoke with its behind facing the viewer from your one pin into the slowpoke ribbon. It's funny and I think would have strong "where did you get that?" attention grabbing energy.

I love it so much, but all my keychains get handled too roughly to treat it right. It turns out that tumbling around with a dozen and a half key generally leads to total trinket destruction.

Loving the shading. Did you use some reference from the photo for where the light should land or just freehand it?

Yes, there's a reason all of mine have an endless torrent of microcenter housebrand micro sd's in them.

Last year I read A Confederacy of Dunces. It's a comedy centering around a bumbling idiot who feigns interest in social causes for his own benefit. Despite being written in the late 60's, every character feels like a timeless archetype and somebody you know today.

I used to get annoyed by marker streaks, but found that when I tried a fancy paper meant to minimize them that the streaks indeed add an amount of warmth and life to a piece.
