This is a good observation! Dye does seem to stand apart from the most commonly discussed eras and genres. I see him as a modern architect—roughly a contemporary of RTJ, Nicklaus, the Fazios, etc.—but he always found ways to differentiate himself from his competitors.

By "talk about... Sergio García rocking Fireballs merch at a design contract signing," I mean that I mention it. I honestly don't have much to add. I hope he builds a great golf course in Bahrain.

Pretty great to see a guy who has dismissed the entire discipline of philosophy as useless get absolutely pantsed by this question

Haven't been to Louisville proper, but my understanding is that it's a bit of a public golf desert. If you can get to French Lick, the Ross course is a good (if pricey) option. I've also heard Chariot Run is decent.

By "normal feed," do you mean the Fried Egg Podcast feed? If so, no—there is a new feed for Designing Golf where we will be posting episodes. Thanks for your interest!

I think there's some potential, and it's nice to have something to joke about online on a Tuesday night, but ESPN has a lot of work to do on the telecast. The whole thing needs to be shorter and tighter.

Bummer to miss out on Yarra Yarra, Woodlands, Metro, and National Gunnamatta, but you have to draw the line somewhere. It's also worth keeping an eye on OCM's ongoing work at Huntingdale and Long Island. When those open back up, they're probably going to be really good.

Okay, I know why: it's positing that "New York Golf Club" and "The Bay Golf Club" are real things

Lonsdale Links, Barwon Heads, Huntingdale (under construction rn). The National is another, but I'll probably figure out a way to walk those courses.

Lol I know this is probably a popular theory on the Refuge or something, but it's not what happened. Jokes aside, it would have been odd for us to be asked. And as long as NLU remains part of the "council," I'm sure something good can come of it.
