OH MY

Ended tonight's practice session by doing a little improvising on Lift Every Voice and Sing. Good for the chops. Good for soul. Juneteenth. 📯

Gen Z/Alpha: the 2000s were cool we should bring some of that back Millennials: ok, let us tell you about some of our fav- Z/Alpha: *blasting creed and trying on low waisted jncos* Millennials: no wait The Govt: oh hell yeah! *frantically starts fabricating evidence of WMDs in the Middle East*

Daniel Ek has to have a villain origin story. He’s cartoonishly evil but is seemingly just motivated by how much he really fucking hates music and musicians rather than by falling into a vat of acid or whatever

“Socialist countries don’t innovate” Explain this

Juneteenth with the @minnesotaorchestra.org. James Price JOHNSON, Mary D WATKINS, Michael ABELS, James LEE III, Valerie COLEMAN, and Carlos SIMON

Yes. I am right. I am seeing how Chat GPT is ruining students critical thinking and writing skills in real time. It is not the future. It is a tool designed to render the populace helpless, to make people doubt their innate intelligence, and to foster overreliance on technology.

Every year that passes, I come to better appreciate just how traumatic members of the US elite find it to be yelled at by progressive young people. It is *vastly* more upsetting to them than being yelled at by reactionaries. They warp their entire identities & ideologies around it!

The all-or-nothing framing is how you know it’s a scam. Whether it’s issued by a man at a bar or a sales rep at a tech demo it’s the same truth. People who don’t want you to THINK before you act ARE STEALING FROM YOU. Where is everyone’s survival skills??

Ed Tech is a Trojan horse for tech elite capture of public resources. Every time.

the destruction of chattel slavery is one of the great accomplishments in our nation's history and the reason conservatives hate celebrating it is because doing so legitimizes the black counter-narrative of the united states

it cannot simultaneously be true that media outlets like the Times and the Post are the Fourth Estate, playing a vital Democratic function, and also that what occurs on its pages is harmless intellectual inquiry

the NBA moved it's all star game out of north carolina! it was a huge deal with a groundswell of support from everyone to the left of ben shapiro.

We didn't have any societal support 20 years ago and we made it just fine!

The score for this series is wonderful work by Michael Kamen, and I think one of the last things he did, sadly

I need to kill time so I just started Band Of Brothers e1 (this is my 1000th re-watch)

Hey folks! I'm sorry to share that we've just heard from the A2SF that tonight's events are cancelled due to the thunderstorms forecast here throughout the rest of the day Julie, Sara, and I are very sorry that we cannot perform tonight, but we have a lot of excitement planned for '25-'26!

The film "Amadeus" depicts the act of composition very accurately inasmuch as all composers have noodles in their brains that serve as the site for their creative process - mine are bucatini, which has its advantages and disadvantages

Is it sweet that my wife and I both have trouble sleeping when we are apart? Asking for an itinerant insomniac

historians is it good when the robe Nobles are able to buy the positions and honors typically reserved for the sword Nobles?
