As I’m fond of saying, when it comes to the far right, it’s always Russia and it’s always money.

Russia has cultivated influence in the political and business worlds in the West forever. There is always an oligarch whisperer nearby with money to throw around. They invest in tech, buy football teams, hold parties, etc. But they exist at the Kremlin's pleasure and have chores.

Trump's allegiance to Putin has deep roots, & Zelensky turning down his indecent, & impeachable, proposal in 2019 earned his personal enmity. But is that enough for MAGA tech bros like Musk & Sacks to spend so much time on vicious attacks on a beleaguered nation & its president?

Doesn’t really bother me, although I cannot help but notice as it happens so frequently. In a way, it’s flattering and positive for the game that so many directors, producers, and advertisers want to put chess in their productions, but it would be nice if they asked a player!

And listening to Congressman Torres talk about his background, growing up in public housing in the Bronx, literally in the shadow of a Trump golf course, it’s hard not to wonder at the absurdity of the gilded Trump and his billionaire gang trying to hijack the mantle of the common man.
