Trump's rambling press conference with workers standing around him is producing some great looks on their faces. They get it.

Understand this: Trump’s attacks on the NIH aren’t just hurting NIH workers and its HQ in Maryland — they’re grinding lifesaving medical research to a halt nationwide. We cannot let them get away with this assault on public health.

Twenty years ago the Republican party stood for huge tax cuts for the rich and wars of choice in the middle east, but then Donald Trump totally remade the party and realigned American poltiics, and now the Republica party stands for...huge tax cuts for the rich and wars of choice in the middle east.

What an excellent piece by Jamelle Bouie @jamellebouie.net -- here's a gift link so you can read it without the paywall: www.nytimes.com/2025/06/18/o...

They’re not even bothering with the fake ICE costumes anymore. This should feel unacceptable to every single person in America.

This is the energy we need. Thank you Senator Duckworth. @duckworth.senate.gov

Hard to believe this isn’t already the law.

National Guard Will Remain in L.A. Until a Legal Challenge Is Heard Judge Charles Breyer ordered the administration to return control of the National Guard to the California governor, but an appeals court stayed the extraordinary decision Thursday night. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/13/u...

Bukele and Trump are complicit in an illegal scheme to use US taxpayer dollars to ship people to El Salvador in violation of their constitutional rights. Today we introduced sanctions against the Bukele regime to fight this cash-for-collusion deal & assault on our Constitution:

DOJ lawyer called failure to comply with statute requiring activation of National Guard “through” the governor a “foot fault.” Cringe. I’d call that argument an unforced error. No surprise the judge ended up waving around a pocket copy of the Constitution. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

Senator Padilla was driven violently to his knees–as if made to kneel before the authority of the executive–because the administration called his questions “disrespectful”. This should offend not just the other 99 Senators. It should offend the conscience of this country.

This is a lie. We all saw the video. The Senator clearly identified himself, and he did not "lunge" toward anyone.   If these miserable propagandists will lie to you about roughing up a U.S. Senator in a room full of reporters, what won't they lie to you about?

We are marching to Senator Thune’s office. There must be accountability for the detainment of a Senator. This is not normal.

House Dems are demanding that Noem testify before Congress after Sen. Padilla was detained by federal agents at her DHS press conference in LA.

ICYMI: Federal judge GRANTS California Governor Gavin Newsom @governor.ca.gov’s Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order, telling Trump he ILLEGALLY deployed the California National Guard to LA. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Read these words from Senator Murray, who has said it so well tonight. We’re in danger of losing democracy. Don’t ignore what’s happening. joycevance.substack.com/p/we-are-a-d...

My team and I at the Crowd Counting Consortium (@[email protected], Soha Hammam, & Chris Shay) have a new piece out: wagingnonviolence.org/2025/06/amer.... In it, we show that through May 2025, the size and scale of anti-Trump protests have dwarfed those in 2017. 🧵

Trump’s go-to line about every foreign policy crisis and war - from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, to October 7th, to the Israel’s devastation of Gaza - was “It would never have happened if I was president.” Welp.

Senator Murray didn't say "misrepresentation of the facts". She said LIE!!!

Put this on a billboard.

The Israelis are calling this a "preemptive" strike. Whether you agree or disagree with this attack, these are not - from what we know tonight - "preemptive" strikes. The Israelis are using that word for a reason. Read on. /1

1/ In the middle of everything today, a little good news: a fed'l judge has ruled that challenged parts of Trump's executive order on voting are invalid. It would have required, among other things, proof of citizenship before people could register to vote. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I predict Texas will welcome this robotaxi functionality, even though it's less efficient than use of automatic weapons in school shootings.

We hear that immigrants are "freeloaders," yet they're being arrested at their workplaces. We hear that immigrants "just need to follow the law," but when they attempt to, they're rounded up at courthouses. Hello?

Tomorrow, we will be demonstrating across this country against our wannabe king and his decision to destroy the constitutional rights that Americans fought long and hard to secure. We will show solidarity — and we will do it peacefully. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/tomorrow-is-no-kings-day

I get that these guys have no shame, but that doesn’t mean we should give them a pass for it. Shame on Johnson and shame on the Republican Party that won’t call this out even though they know it’s wrong.

Judge Breyer found not only that Trump Admin failed to follow lawful procedure in activating National Guard in LA, but also failed to show a “rebellion” or inability to execute federal law. In other words, as I read it, order was based on a pretext. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Listen to this great American. This nation is privileged to have a man of this character in the United States Senate. Thank you @padilla.senate.gov. We stand with you.

The Netanyahu government’s decision to attack Iran only makes a very dangerous situation worse. Instead of bringing wars to an end, Trump is facilitating them — leading to civilian deaths and threatening American lives. This is a moment that requires real American leadership.

Another disturbing episode with this arrest at a time when Jewish people in MoCo and across America have been subjected to antisemitic attacks and vitriol. Grateful to the MoCo police who quickly apprehended the suspect and kept the students safe.

"Interest has dramatically picked up in recent days. Sign-ups surpassed 5,000 — the capacity for the plaza where the rally is scheduled — and organizers are working with law enforcement to potentially close roads to ensure the safety of a larger crowd..." www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

Bob Costas nailed it. 🎯

My strong instinct is that Trump's threats against Americans' first amendment right to peaceably assemble is going to massively juice attendance at Saturday's protests. www.nokings.org

WTF? Trump is now threatening the American people. He warned protesters to stay away from his birthday/military parade in D.C. this Saturday, claiming anyone who shows up to protest “hates our country” and will be met with “very heavy force.” This is authoritarian behavior, plain and simple.

The Trump admin has illegally fired THOUSANDS of federal employees who work every day to deliver for the American people.   People like Keri in MD — whose work promoted US manufacturing & jobs, until she was fired. I shared her story in a hearing with Sec. Lutnick this morning:

Republicans like to call their legislation a “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Today the nonpartisan CBO showed us the truth: their bill would kick almost 11 million people off their health insurance & balloon the deficit by $2.4T. That’s not “beautiful”—it’s the Great Betrayal in action.

NEW: In the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case, Judge Xinis grants the plaintiff’s request to file a motion for sanctions. Motion due June 11.
