Old movies are so weird. They haven't found the perfect story formula yet, so they let strange moments happen. Sometimes it's too slow, or too ambiguous, or there are huge plot holes nobody cares about #movies #cinema #cinematography

I didn't know 60s had THAT many great movies and some of them are my favorites now Lawrence of Arabia, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Le SamouraΓ― They were 𝓬𝓸𝓸𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰 πŸ₯΅ #lawrenceofarabia #thegoodthebadandtheugly #lesamourai #movies

Now when I watch a Tarantino movie I can't unsee Sergio Leone and can't unhear Ennio Morricone everywhere

My eternal dilemma: write a book or a screenplay. It's terribly difficult to create images with words needed for a book, I'm way better with plot instructions needed for a script. But I can simply publish the book when it's finished, whereas the script can be ignored and nobody will see the story

It's infinitely easier for me to 'reverse engineer' characters I create. I come up with interesting dynamics, and then I find an explanation why it's possible. Questions for characters like 'what food they like', 'what hobbies they have' are absolutely unusable for me somehow #writing

I'm SO afraid to write anything, because I get stuck at perfecting every plot line so it makes perfect sense all the time and has a complete arc. Sometimes I'm tempted to stop halfway through and simply start writing and see how it goes #writing #writingcommunity #writingproblems

If there was an open source messaging app as great as Telegram I would immediately switch to it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, open source apps often lack features that we all know and love in closed proprietary ones, so switching feels more like sacrificing convenience for a feeling of privacy

I wonder what people call some unnamed genres of stories. I've heard 'competence porn' for stories like 'The Bear', 'Generation Kill', etc, where characters do their job exceptionally well under stress even if they don't enjoy it or have personal problems, but it's barely googleable.

Experimenting with some web dev tools that I see for the first time in my life πŸ’€ #webdev #webdesign #nuxt #vue

I hear we're posting .gifs now? #pixelart

I wish I knew a list of weird websites and apps. Just to open it, and there is something weird. Like a news website about a city that doesn't exist. I want to embrace the weirdness

I've written an inline telegram bot to embed media, and you don't have to invite it to a chat, hehe github.com/kerivin/medi... #github #telegram #bot #telegrambot #opensource

You know how stories have a protagonist who is a normal ordinary person, and they meet weird characters? We as readers should feel relatable since we are as regular as the protagonist. But you know what? I want every character in my story to be weird and flawed as hell

I realized it's way easier to create a story outline if the setup already has a conflicting dynamic between characters. If characters are fine with each other, they won't move their dynamic and plot anywhere; if they want different things during a scene, it's much easier to come up with what happens

When I want to find a great story to experience, I rarely search for story-driven games. I usually search for books with interesting description and good reviews. I guess that's another reason to try writing a book instead of making a game, if my main motivation is telling a story πŸ—Ώ #writing

I just wanted to screenshot a bruise on Arthur's face, but goddayum does he look gorgeous #rdr2

I'm in love with this game now #rdr2 #reddeadredemption2 #arthurmorgan #fanart #art #rdr

I tried to like #Matrix, but it's just painful to use. - Screen share with sound only works in #Element web app in a chromium browser (not Element desktop, not another web client, not another browser), and you still can't share a certain app

A simple website I've made for my long posts so I don't have to split them into many small posts kerivin.github.io (I have no idea how to do web design πŸ’€)

I'd add that if you want to skip writing a scene as soon as possible, then readers will want to skip reading it

Continuing my thoughts on whether I should write a book or make a game: They're not just different mediums, they also have different audiences. 🧡

When I think about making an indie game, I should always remember the efficiency. Every asset should give as much content as possible, and it should be reusable as much as possible, because I want to spend as little time as possible. 🧡

🧡A thread for creative individuals who wants to make things but gets so overwhelmed by all the ideas in their head that they end up doing nothing:

What the hell is this dark pattern? The only thing it achieves is that I want to delete my account altogether instead of opening the website

I just finished RDR2 for the first time. The only thing I didn't like is I can't erase memories and play it for the first time again
