Check out nebula.tv - an independent creator owned streaming service. Most of them started out as YouTubers and they're doing really high quality video essays and original content. Not much more than the price of a cup of coffee per month I'm sending you already, so try it with this month's cup ;)

As someone born on "Star Wars Day" that year, I would really like to see the 25th reclaimed as the true Star Wars Day !

But he's clearly a terrorist, no way they'd make a terrorist the pope?

I genuinely think he'll be surprised when he wakes up tomorrow to find out he didn't win. And will claim it was rigged.

I really like Ground News for this sort of thing. News site aggregator, but also highlights any perceived political bias in reporting (and will flag up "blindspots" that you may not see if you are inclined towards left/right news sources usually).

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Slashfilm is clickbait trash and should be ignored.

FYI this particular gameshow was already being produced in Ireland *before* there was an applicable tax credit. It was somehow cheaper to fly 100 contestants *and the audience* there and put them up for a week. But there is one there now, so it's even cheaper. www.irishtimes.com/your-money/2...

I was very confused about why they may have needed to cancel Pride until I realised it was 4 years old! She seems great though.

Same thing with their contribution to the Metallica Black Album covers album, except I forgave them for dropping the Buddy Holly riff at the end of the big solo.

Heh, I thought of you when watching it. Really enjoyable, need to follow through and watch a few more of their films!

Hey @pbs.org any chance you could figure out how to broadcast this in the Vermont/~Montreal region?

I seem to have watched & logged 49 according to my Letterboxd diary, though I'm sure I failed to log a fair few.
My highest rated that isn't on your list is Civil War. (And an honorable mention to His Three Daughters and The Contestant which I watched recently but apparently had a release in 2023)

Have you tried the BFI Player? A lot of overlap with Criterion (which I didn't think you could get in Ireland).

True. Hope you've seen this video series.

I'm afraid to report that incident didn't make the final cut of the movie!
Lots of other great stuff though, I'm sure you'll appreciate the 'Prodigy' cameo.

It's almost a blessing in disguise, a genuine opportunity to educate the youth on motion 'enhancement'/smoothing, AI upscaling and the benefit of Filmmaker Mode!

Agreed! I was surprised to see a lot of people had rated it highly. A generous 2.5* for me.

I'm currently disliking The Wagon almost as much as The Prick displeased me!
