also me and some friends put on an impromptu acted out table read of Koudelka a few months back where we pulled up the script and assigned parts to each other. Really fun and really stupid, only takes like an hour. I think that was the only time that's probably ever been done. Highly recommend it.

especially in the case of dialogue. The subtle way these characters talk over each other, it makes you realize right there just how clunky the usual back and forth dialogue is in a lot of games that pride themselves on being 'cinematic'.

seeing this play out on the ps1 makes you feel like you're watching something made years later with a ps1 aesthetic rather than something that was natively on it. It feels clunky in some areas but so much more advanced than its peers in others

And It's a hefty four discer because it's absolutely crammed with outstanding pre-rendered environment art, thoughtful UI, really good character models, cutscenes and, maybe my favorite part, full voice acting and motion captured in-engine scenes that play out like a stage play

first off -four discs, roughly 9 or 10 hours. Consistent all the way through. That alone is unheard of in multi-disc games from this era that often suffer from uneven pacing due to hardware constraints. Koudelka instead feels entirely planned around the PS1's limitations
