A thread in which I try to show some of the harmful practical effects on the quality of its analysis of the Supreme Court's appalling and delegitimating decision to exclude all trans voices from a judgment with profound effects on trans people's lives.

An important reminder as the Supreme Court makes its judgement - not a single trans person was heard from at any point during this case before them, even a trans judge who applied was refused. This is, as usual, the British state acting as cis people to impose their will on trans people.

The legal system is institutionally conservative. It locks up peaceful climate protesters for longer than sex predators. It elects foaming bigots as representatives of its disciplines The route to liberation isn't legal, it's political, and that means removing the Labour Party from leading the left

If a cis woman is perceived to be a man and doesn't have relevant documents (for example they are a refugee). They can now legally be barred from using a female space. Women's Rights have been set back about 60 years today in the UK.

The Supreme Court is due to rule tomorrow on the Equality Act. But it didn’t hear from a single trans person. It’s vital that people are in the room when their rights and freedoms are on the line. www.thenational.scot/news/2508432...

Well this is a grim new development 😕

The result of a case, that impacts trans people and nobody else, in which trans people weren't allowed to speak, will have already been shared with people who hate trans people. This is the UK legal system today.

Yeah, Politico can go fuck itself. This is absolutely not the framing unless you are a transphobic piece of shit who gets their briefings on equality from Sex Matters.

Another magnificent tree destroyed. The fact that Enfield has only now acted to put a TPO on the stump sounds like a cruel joke 😢 www.standard.co.uk/comment/oak-...

What do mps think is reasonable engagement? Just straight up telling them you agree or complaining about something and being told to consult the constituency office anyway? It's performative. There is no conversation everything is described as abuse

these ppl are either lacking in self-awareness or they’re absolute psychopaths.

Coincidentally, moron premium is also what she's calling the paid tier of her social app

The crisis for UK steel is exposing another – perhaps even bigger – crisis for the UK Our news media seems incapable of even the most basic factchecking YES energy for UK steelmakers is costly NO it's not due to net-zero YES it is due to GAS Here's what UK media isn't telling you🧵

Our beautiful birds of prey are routinely and illegally slaughtered on driven grouse moors . If you are as sick of this criminal persecution as me then please sign this ⁦‪@wildjustice.bsky.social petition petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70... Please RT

Wes Streeting is gutting the NHS of its ability to survive by destroying the management on which it is dependent to deliver the healthcare we need. This is not austerity. This is madness, Elon Musk style, and if he succeeds, there will be no NHS left to save. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/04...

Got to admit, I did not think we would be girl bossing billionaire hobbies in 2025

I'm sorry but the phrase "Gender equality in space tourism" feels powerfully disconnected from materially reality

You don’t have to be particularly sharp to decipher the code here. But if you need someone to say it, this is a major technology company and a sizable defense and intelligence contractor publicly declaring, with only the thinnest patina of deniability, that its cause is white nationalism.

Are Wes Streeting and NHS England covering up trans suicide data? 🧵

1,100 pieces against trans people in just 4 papers over 1 year. Almost 1 a day per paper. With absolutely no recourse at all. Is it any wonder that trans people are both angry and terrified?

They're passengers. Why are they dressed like NASA crew?

Men will literally shoot Katy Perry into space instead of going to therapy

If we’re renationalising steel, could we also renationalise our national health infrastructure? (And can left-wing MPs saying “can we also renationalise water, electricity and Royal Mail”, not keep forgetting how much of our health and care infrastructure has been privatised?)

it is interesting how this was totally an elite fabrication. trans rights were on the path to general acceptance on the gay marriage coattails but nearly our entire elite culture including elite liberals decided to run a multi-year op against a tiny minority

New guidance tells GPs not to support trans people by providing blood tests. This is under Wes Streeting's political control of the NHS. This isn't healthcare, this is putting people at risk.

I would be more supportive of this steel debate if I thought Starmer gave a flying fuck about national resources and not just tabloid headlines

British Steel employs 3.6k people. Coventry Uni group, which auditors say may not survive, employs 7.7k. But there is an emergency debate in parliament for British Steel and nothing for the whole HE sector imploding

For all the criticisms I have of Mermaids it is absolutely fucking wild that they were hounded to the ends of the Earth by regulators and the press for providing binders while anti-trans parents groups can swap abuse tips and the only people who care are small trans outlets.

It's an interesting stunt. I wonder if they reflected on how it's exactly the kind of stunt the mad fashes would have pulled on a "woke" brand.

fuck all of you forever and for all eternity for this, there are things that i think we should hold grudges over and every cis person who was 'just asking questions' needs to be tried at nuremberg, im not even kidding

The Teeswork Freeport corruption in short. 2 businessmen paid £110 for a £100m site. We paid £462m to clean it up they paid nothing They made £100m selling scrap metal from clean up, we received nothing. Michael Gove covers it up.

🤐

Victim complex

I’m going to coin a law - call it Maugham’s First Law - and it is that nothing Wes Streeting ever says turns out to be true. 🧵

Disgraceful action by the Labour government against trans people outlined in this shocking thread about new NHS guidance. The need for 🏳️‍⚧️ allies to speak up in support of the community has never been so stark and clear.

Remember: Cass is not peer-reviewed - and is therefore not “gold”, silver, bronze or even recycled plastic standard. IMO it’s just pseudoscience. There are now at least five damming, peer-reviewed critiques of Cass; all automatically of a higher standard, with at least two more in peer-review.

Like hell he is. He blindly followed the discredited Cass Review, knowingly pushing for the ban despite all evidence of the harm it would cause. If Streeting was "genuinely sorry" he'd be making sure trans young people could get the care and support they need. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...
