“The very fact that I am having to publish this anonymously in a country that has the right to free speech written into our Constitution is an indictment of what is happening. Like all federal employees in the US, I took an oath to the Constitution, not to a president…” 🧪 www.bmj.com/content/388/...

Charles Darwin was born OTD in 1809. Though best known for evolution by natural selection, I’d venture that he devoted more time, and more published pages, to plant physiology and behavior than any other subject. It was all to serve his evolutionary project, but still. #HPBio #Evobio 🧪 #HistSTM

Hope for Britain’s loneliest bat after second species member discovered. Greater mouse-eared bat was declared extinct in the UK but ecologists now believe population recovery is possible. 🧪🦇 www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

No lies told in this headline.

My observation from the pandemic about this is a lot of people claim to like science but show they really don’t when it inconveniences them. What they actually like is random science trivia (“Saturn has 146 moons!”) that doesn’t challenge their world views. 🧪

The major climate groups monitoring global temperature released their estimates for 2024. The anomalies range from +1.46 to +1.62°C, likely the first post-industrial year with Earth +1.5°C above pre-industrial conditions. The 30-year climate average is still ~1.2°C but obviously increasing 🧪 +...

And 2026, or even 2025, will be even warmer. Ask me about 2029 Eventually, when half the planet has burnt LA style, we will scapegoat the fossil fuel industry and engage them in endless legal action. But that won't bring back the thousands of species we lose every single year. #extinction

The saddest thing about @bsky.app - the more successful it is, the more it separates the Left and Right. #aiimage

It's pretty amazing to think that there is evidence of the impact which may have killed off the dinosaurs 66 million years ago on the Moon! 🧪 #PlanetSci

More funding is being poured into deployment of renewable energy globally now than fossil fuel infrastructure. And as of 2018 it took about half as long to build a renewable power plant (<2 years) than to build a thermal (fossil fuel) power plant (~4 years). 🧪🔌💡☀️💨🔋 www.iea.org/data-and-sta...

Jimmy Carter had the courage to call out Israeli apartheid in Palestine when no other president dared. May we honor his legacy by standing for justice in his memory. RIP.👏👏👏
